Yesterday’s Budget: families on their knees, energy bills soaring, living standards described as “grim,” and other departments cut to scrape together defence funding.
Today: King Charles sharing photos of himself lounging on a government VIP jet that costs £2,000 an hour (tartan cushions and all) en route to Barbados.
£18k for one flight while ordinary people freeze and scrape.
This is the UK in 2026. Abolish the monarchy. #NotMyKing #AbolishTheMonarchy

They've really fucked up, haven't they?
The class in power is the wrong class, making catastrophic decision after catastrophic decision in the name of a catastrophic rendering of human affairs.
They believe that we, the West, is Rome to Russia's Carthage, and they have acted accordingly to the point where the prospect of war has never been more real.
We have no enemies in Russia, they do. We are not responsible for Britain facing 'hostile states', they are.
Russia is not and never has been a threat to Britain. But Britain is and continues to be a threat to Russia. Britain has not faced the looming threat of a hostile military alliance expanding up to its borders, Russia has.
They can't even fight and defeat poverty in Britain, yet they expect us to fight and defeat Russia.
They can't keep our pensioners warm in winter, yet they expect the grandsons of those pensioners to fight Russia.
They can't even keep all our children properly fed and securely housed, yet they expect their dads to fight Russia.
Despite everything, they want us to play the patriot game, to believe them when they say that Russia poses a growing threat.
The real threat is posed by them and their barbaric ways.
In the year 2026, is this really as good as it gets?

I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to.
The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact.
But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help.
That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up.
It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.

If Labour MPs believe the state pension is sufficient to live on, why not reduce their salaries from £98,600 to £12,500 per year with the promise that it will increase every year by inflation or 2.5%?
Let's see how much they really like the double-lock.

Plus expenses
This must be capped to £50.000 no expenses
This will save the country
Their are 650 MPs
This will save £32 million
The late MP for Broadgreen, Terry Fields, once said, ‘A militant is a moderate who gets up off his knees’"
Tony Mulhearn said "We had 65% turn outs in the elections. When now it is 30% You can’t bludgeon people into a 65% turnout."
Fields only took a firemans wage as an MP.
Kinnock was right to take on the entryists of the Militant Tendency. Labour should always be a broad church, and there should be a place in the party for the radical left. But party members should not be forced to accept as bedfellows people who are ultimately dishonest about their methods and motives (and who would never have achieved more than a derisory vote if they stood on their own ticket). Militant was a party within a party. Everyone knew it. They needed to be drummed out.

It was a completely different era. In the current football climate, this would spark weeks of intense national media scrutiny and serious calls to ban fans from Goodison. 😬

Kinnock is a scab who paved the way for Blairism. He began his political life as a son of the Welsh working class, who then became a committed servant of British capital all the way up into the House of Lords.
Along the way, he betrayed Scargill and the miners during their epic and courageous struggle against Thatcher.
Militant built council houses in Liverpool, ran deficit budgets to invest in local public works projects with a view to securing employment for victims of Thatcher’s brutal free market structural adjustment of the British economy.
Militant also organised and led the nationwide non-payment campaign that defeated the Poll Tax, leading to Thatcher's personal downfall.
In summary, Militant unleashed a noble attempt to place the working class at the centre of things, not merely on the basis of cultural identity, but on the level of a fully conscious economic and political power.

History has proved this man wrong.
He was a traitorous scab who betrayed the working class of this country.
Shame on him.
#OTD 1985. At Bournemouth, Neil Kinnock takes on Militant in his conference speech.
He credits the Labour movement with giving him “the life chance of moving out of a pest and damp-infested set of rooms into a decent home, built by a Labour council under a Labour Government”.

There should be both a triple lock on pensions ( we have some of the worst pensions in Europe for one of Europe's hardest working workforce) and social care spending.
Maybe the PM can start looking at where the money has gone in the last 25 years, who it went to and what it was spent on, alongside the routine and corrupt current practice of denying people social care who are having to sell homes and everything they have despite qualification for said care. Bookmark this because it will be a bigger scandal than Post Office and PPE combined.
We're a rich nation who's people ( out collective fault for voting for people and manifestos that change mid term, something that should be a legally binding document by the way) have worked hard for local and national services, care in old age, and a modest buffer to live on in retirement.
This is neither woke, lefty, righty or middly. It's what people vote for only to be u-turned by all governments.
Norway has 3 trillion in the bank, great pension provision, child care, public services and elderly care. They don't have a magic money tree nor have things like the City of London which should be generating huge revenue privately that also benefits us publicly. They simply hold politicians to account, make sound national decisions and aren't tempted by snake oil salesmen promising the earth but delivering zero to them but plenty to pals.
We do the opposite.

Worth saying again: you don’t get “honoured” by the state for services to trade unions, but for serving them up to the ruling class - pitiful stuff
Lou Haigh’s excellent speech at #TUC26 couldn’t be clearer: Burnham’s Labour sides with working class people, and alongside our movement, will rebalance power, spread wealth and end the poisonous divisions across this country. This agenda cannot afford to fail.

Dave Ward was given a CBE (commander of the British empire) by Starmer. Presumably this was for selling out the last national postal workers strike. The British state only gives gongs to union leaders who sell workers down the river and that's exact what Ward has done.
