Coach: Why is he…
Not at school?
Not in class?
Not wearing issued gear?
Not passing classes?
Not in the weight room?
Not leading his team?
Not the first to practice?
Not watching film?
Not playing special teams?
Not updating his highlight?

This is why it becomes a problem when grades become the goal.
The quickest route to a good grade isn't through learning. It's through cheating, shortcuts, and surface-level and short-term retention.

In my 16 years as an athlete & 5 years in the training world… there’s a commonality in elite athletes: Demeanor
Eye contact
Perfectionists
Know when to play & when to focus
Respectful
Accountable
Punctual
It’s seemingly innate to who they are and part of what makes them elite.

You want to be the state champion? You may have to skip the parties, dates, or trips to train/sleep
It’s not meant to be an easy choice.
However at the end of the day, it’s YOUR choice.

It usually does not get easier.
You just get better.
More efficient.
More effective.
And you adapt.
