There's nothing more heartfelt than the new ass. sup. of curriculum reminiscing about their time in the classroom from the late '90s. "Back when I was a teacher, students would run to my class because they knew I would engage them in the learning process."

This is Mecca. The Garden of Eden. A corner dive bar that you can walk to at 4pm as the sun is setting and reflecting off of a fallen snow is the most pure form of spirituality that exists. This picture is the essence of a good life. This is hallowed ground.

Sometimes it feels like Millennials, who were born after the lead poisoning but before the algorithms, are the only truly sane generation.

Sports are fun, but they’re also a beautiful tool to teach young people valuable life lessons. Like “Work hard”, “Support your teammates”, and “Sometimes life is rigged in favor of those with more resources.”

Anyone got an update on this guy?
Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin on the teacher rallies today. “I guarantee you somewhere in Kentucky today a child was sexually assaulted that was left at home because there was nobody there to watch them.”

The board is sparing no expense when it comes to our students. No, they aren't supplying you with classroom necessities, but they did hire an expensive, and therefore effective, educelebrity to lead next week's welcome-back PDs. Bring your gallery-walking shoes!

Technically a poem but still a good tweet.
I saw someone say, “No spoilers for The Odyssey.” Brother, you’ve had 3,000 years to read the book.

The people that run nearly everything in this country are completely detached from what their fans/constituents/customers actually want. Example one thousand. No one wants this and it will hurt the sport long term.
Everyone knew ncaa tournament expansion to 76 was inevitable. Almost nobody wants it. Those trying to argue its merits are gaslighting you. I’ve written it many times — it’s a lousy development that contributes to the erosion of what makes college sports great.

The erosion of K-12 accountability at all levels—districts, schools, teachers & students—since 2016 has corresponded with a drop in outcomes. The fad of the moment in education is "science of reading", but without addressing low standards, curriculum changes alone won't work. 1/n

This is a blueprint for raising tiny marauding narcissists who believe they’re the center of the cosmos. You should absolutely not do this. You should live your life. Be interesting. Bring your kids with you. Make them adapt. They’ll respect you. You’ll respect yourself.
My super strong parenting opinion is that while the kids are awake, you come last. No spending all of Saturday golfing. That’s family time. 6 am tee time only, maybe. Wanna go to the gym? Go after the kids go to bed, or wake up at 5. In a few short years, they’ll be out of the house and you’ll have all the time in the world for your own stuff. It’s okay to come last for a while.
