Enough is enough.
For years, people have been expected to put up with Avanti’s cancellations, delays, overcrowding, and a service that has failed them time and time again.
So my Labour government is bringing Avanti West Coast into public ownership at the earliest opportunity in March next year.
That means passengers, not shareholders, will come first.
More investment, fewer delays, and a renewed focus on getting the basics right.
We're putting essential services back in public hands and building a railway that actually works for the people who use it.

🎉 Today we’re celebrating four years of Sutton Coldfield BID’s Farmers & Craft Market!
We launched the Sunday market in 2022 with a simple goal: to boost footfall on what was traditionally the quietest day of the week.
Four years on, we consistently welcome 30+ stallholders every month, alongside live music, free children’s face painting and entertainment.
Managed entirely in-house by the BID, the market continues to give people another great reason to visit and enjoy Sutton Coldfield town centre.

MSM are forced into this model because they now live off clickbait. Such a problem for honest professional journalists who are forced to feed this monster.
The problem was that is was headlined in most media as a ‘blanket citywide 20mph scheme’. In reality of course many roads will remain 30 and eg Aston Expressway is national speed limit. So falsely misrepresent the scheme and then trash that false representation. Sounds familiar?

Raise the Colours should pay the bill. They caused the problem, they should clear it up.
🚨Breaking: Birmingham’s flag removal operation would divert £2.6M away from pothole repairs and highway maintenance.
The Council’s own evidence estimates this figure. The same evidence acknowledges that the scale and cost of the operation would divert resources away from essential services, highway maintenance and pothole repairs.
The £2.6 million estimate relates only to removals and does not represent the full wider cost of the High Court proceedings, legal work, officer time, monitoring and any subsequent enforcement.
Birmingham City Council remains under Government intervention as it continues to recover from years of serious financial failure. The Council has around £3.6 billion of borrowing and is owed more than £360 million that it believes it may never recover.
Anyone who drives around Birmingham can see the state of our roads. Residents are dealing with potholes every day.
Why is Birmingham City Council so determined to waste money taking down our national flag?
