Ongoing print media promotion of the agenda for increased flights by semi-state @DublinAirport without any contextual reference of the associated climate emissions damage or the noise disturbance impact for those under the flight paths - @EllieD798

Profit over a liveable planet prevails...
We were warned, we knew, we understood the consequences, but yet we refused to change.
#ClimateCatastrophe
Common sense prevails…
Failures on the part of Transport Minister @EamonRyan and Tourism Minister @cathmartingreen forced airlines to take legal action and this is the welcome result.

Just a reminder that if you haven't already done so, there is still time to sign @autofac's petition which is calling for a standalone TV debate on climate change during the 2024 General Election. 👇👇👇

A tax on frequent flyers in Europe could raise €64bn annually!
This would reduce excessive air travel and encourage greener alternatives, benefiting both the environment and society. Let's support sustainable solutions for a better future! 🌍✈️

You simply can't expand airports and be serious about climate action. It's like saying you're serious about tackling drug abuse while building new cocaine distribution hubs. Saying the word 'growth' a lot doesn't change that one bit.
Bad news for the environment: David Cameron tells @r4Today that when you decide you want economic growth, everything else has to be bent to that objective. The #stansted expansion -awful for climate - looks proof that @Kier_Starmer is already following his path.

Dear @NewstalkFM @TheHardShoulder you're platforming someone demanding action that will worsen the odds for our kids &grandkids, for your kids& grandkids. Their futures depend on urgently cutting emissions across ALL sectors. Lifting cap =750000 tonnes MORE emissions. #KeepTheCap

Are the Irish press now fully engaged in climate change denialism? Last week experts warned "all we can do is limit the extent of the harm" ahead for our kids, our grandkids. No mention in this of the masses more emissions lifting of cap would cause. Shameful @Independent_ie

Imagine having the privilege of spending time every week with one of the top climate journalists, @think_or_swim, and still manage to produce something like this.
I'm honestly at a loss for words.

Delicious satirical swipe at the “sustainable aviation” comedians at @AerLingus and DAA. Highlight for me were crocodile tears from Kenny Jacobs, who apparently is “very worried” about #climate change, so worried he’s working flat-out to make it worse.

Yet another disappointing take from the Irish Times.
No mention of emissions or climate change. No critical journalism.
A more relevant headline could be: 'How will climate change and biodiversity collapse impact your holidays?'
