Is it naive of me, or just ridiculously optimistic, to say we could fix this travesty of “free speech” if anonymous social media accounts were banned?
A government of organised fakery. Well done for taking back control.

Nobody has framed Israeli gov policy to Palestinians better than MP Gerald Kaufman (son of Holocaust survivors) did in 2009. Truly terrifying to imagine what future awaits Palestinians over the next 17 years. Are we just going to let Israel carry on?

Lovely article - Swahili is such a rich, satisfying language to learn and use. The problem is finding Swahili-speakers who don’t already speak good English!

Could confirming King Charles’ visit to the US be a smart move on the part of the UK? Could it help exert good sense leverage over Trump? Very bad look if the Iran war is ongoing when Charles arrives.

The attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States are illegal, unprovoked and unjustifiable. Peace and diplomacy was possible. Instead, Israel and the United States chose war. This is the behaviour of rogue states — and they have jeopardised the safety of humankind around the world with this catastrophic act of aggression. Our government must condemn this flagrant breach of international law, and urgently pursue a foreign policy based on justice, sovereignty and peace.

Couldn’t agree more - incredibly moving performances and rising tension, just…superb
A truly harrowing, stunning performance. A lot of tears shed by a rapt audience. Highly prescient to our current times. Compelling work. Great acting. Great Director. Try to see this wonderful performance of All My Sons by Arthur Miller (1946) at the #Wyndham Theatre.

🚨BREAKING: Parliament is going to debate the petition Calling for a public inquiry into Russian influence on UK politics & democracy on 9 February. This is why it’s so important👇
🚨A Petition calling for a full, public inquiry into RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE IN UK POLITICS AND DEMOCRACY has hit the threshold for a debate, but a debate isn’t automatic. MPs need to show support. Email your MP NOW and ask them to publicly support the call for a Commons debate

Hey @Keir_Starmer - British-made military equipment has been found on Sudan battlefields, used by a genocidal militia. That same militia is committing atrocities in El Fasher right now. Stop selling arms that could kill children! secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en…

I'm Jewish So I'm apalled by the senseless murders of two Jews in Manchester But I'm equally apalled, each time I hear that two people have been senselessly murdered in Gaza, Ukraine, or anywhere else Why should I feel any different? We're all members of the same human family

The people protesting, many of them Jewish, are protesting against Starmer and the UK’s arming of Israel, a foreign government. They are not protesting against British Jews. It is Starmer here who is conflating British Jews with Israel - and doing the antisemites’ work for them.
I urge anyone thinking about protesting this weekend to recognise and respect the grief of British Jews. This is a moment of mourning. It is not a time to stoke tension and cause further pain. It is a time to stand together. We are a country that welcomes all people, no matter their faith, to stand under the same flag as neighbours and friends. That is who we are and who we will always be. Hatred and violence will never win.

💯 Suggesting that you can make traumatised Jewish people feel better by stopping solidarity with traumatised Palestinian people is not just insulting and pathetic - it's downright antisemitic and will exacerbate hostility towards Jews.
“It’s outrageous, it’s insulting, it’s divisive to pit one cause against the other.” The government is asking people to choose between having “compassion and understanding to support British Jewish people and Palestinian people”, says journalist @RachShabi. @Mulkerrins

EXPLAINER: @HindRFoundation Chairman Dyab @Aboujahjah outlines why #Belgium 🇧🇪 arresting two Israeli soldiers at the @Tomorrowland festival over Gaza war crimes is a landmark moment for universal jurisdiction. The arrests followed an urgent legal complaint by the HRF and @GLAN_LAW. Our resolve is stronger than ever. ‼️We are ready—with evidence, legal teams, and a global network—to challenge Israeli impunity. Full details ▶️ bit.ly/4ogNtrx

Day by day, they slip away… A child, or two. Sometimes four. Sometimes ten. Not from illness. Not from old age. But from starvation, from airstrikes, from bullets, or from wounds that never had the chance to heal. Children ..with names. With laughter that once echoed in alleyways of refugee camps and normal homes. With dreams now buried beneath rubble or erased by hunger. And We … We watch in silence. Our voices swallowed by fear, Or strangled by systems that have taught us to measure lives by borders, beliefs, or headlines. We in Gaza are imprisoned by our occupier. And you—by the cages of comfort, bureaucracy, and complicity. But silence has never saved a life. And neutrality has never stopped a bullet. Let their names matter, let them be remembered..!

Donald Trump is the only person who can lean on Israel to stop starving people to death in Gaza. Keir Starmer could convince Trump to do that. They're meeting on Monday, so we don't have long to get the PM to act. Add your name to the open letter now: 38d.gs/jd1a
