Where is ๐ Madhubala? Is she suffering in silence? What is happening to her? The silence of @KmcPakistan & @murtazawahab1 serves only to make us think the very worst! #SOSMadhubala

Madhubala needs stable, earth, soil GET HER OFF THE CONCRETE. A properly designed sand or soft-ground resting area could reduce pressure on her feet and legs. #SOSMadhubala @murtazawahab1 @YusraSAskari @KmcPakistan
Madhubala, a female elephant at Karachiโs Safari Park, is facing a serious health emergency after collapsing and becoming unable to stand without assistance.
Authorities say she has developed swelling in her right hind thigh, affecting her ability to use the leg. Veterinary teams are expected to conduct X-rays and blood and urine tests to determine the cause and assess her condition.
Madhubala previously recovered from tuberculosis and a foot infection. Officials say she is currently eating, but veterinarians have warned that prolonged inability to stand could become life-threatening.
Her condition has renewed concerns over specialised veterinary care, continuous monitoring and proper living conditions for captive elephants.

For over an hour, #FreeBunka walked the same heartbreaking path, hitting his feeder with his trunk and repeatedly banging on his barn door. This is not enrichment. This is distress a CRY for HELP #FreeTheWild
On #FreeBunka's repetitive laps I watched for an hour, he not only hits the feeder with his trunk, but as you can hear, he also bashes his barn door. Children watching him learn little more than @YerevanZoo is destroying his mind. @BornFreeFDN @ProEleNetwork

Lucy was let down by humans. Visitors flock to see "an elephant," blind to her wild needs. They don't grasp confinement's cruelty, we stole her freedom. I am Ashamed to be human. #FreeLucy #EndCaptivity #AnimalRights

Today, on #SaveTheElephantDay, we honour one of the Earthโs most intelligent and sentient beings.
They are beings who feel deeply. They remember everything. They hold on to each other in ways that we can't even comprehend. And yet, their stories have been shaped by loss. The forests they once moved through without boundaries are now broken, and so many of them have been left to live lives they never chose.
Itโs difficult to sit with that reality. To know that behind every number is a life that felt, that trusted, that endured.
Today isnโt just about awareness. Itโs about holding space for them, for what theyโve been through, and for what they still deserve.
