“Moses keeps warning the people continually, not to come near unto Jehovah: Paul continually invites the people to come right into His presence” Van Til, C., & Sigward, E. H. (1997). The Sermons and Addresses of Cornelius Van Til (Electronic ed.). New York.

“The raising of the dead forms part of a process of cosmical proportions which draws within its range the entire physical universe and therefore extends to the wicked as well as the righteous. Even in the case of the wicked the resurrection of the body and the recompense in the body are necessary to the completeness of the theodicy which forms the essence of the final coming of the kingdom.” Vos, G. (2013). The Collected Articles of Geerhardus Vos. Lexham Press.

“The time of the resurrection is placed by our Lord at the end of the present world. On the whole the gospel eschatology is kingdom-eschatology. It deals with the large collective events which shall usher in the final perfect state of the kingdom.” Vos, G. (2013). The Collected Articles of Geerhardus Vos. Lexham Press.

The people of God begin in Eden and continue into the new heavens and earth. One God, one people. Much of the debate surrounds what the term "Israel" means. I'm convinced that the term primarily refers to one's status before God and secondarily to one's relationship to Abraham. I trace the people of God through the language of "image." You can read that TGC essay here: tinyurl.com/yc6tzxwk I wrote a book on the subject, From Adam and Israel, in case you want something more substantive I have a whole chapter on "Israel, the Gentiles, and Isaiah's Servant" in my Manger to the Throne volume. See also my long discussion of the "mystery" of the Jews/Gentiles in Eph 3 in Hidden But Now Revealed.

“The eschatology of Jesus is nothing more nor less than the necessary correlate of the Messianic rôle, which, according to the same record, He claims for Himself.” Vos, G. (2013). The Collected Articles of Geerhardus Vos. Lexham Press.

Intracanonical self-attestation illustrated. The NT attests to the inspiration of the OT in its extensive use of it. The OT attests to the inspiration of the NT insofar as the NT completes and fulfills the OT. The Bible is a tightly integrated canonical 'package'.
Version 3.0 released! (sorry, I keep getting great feedback) I added the number of connections per book, so you can get a better sense of which OT books are more prominent in the NT. This plots 3,000 Old Testament allusions and 350 quotations in the NT. 🔸= quotations 🔹= allusions

“The eschatological coming of the kingdom does more than merely make externally manifest what internally was already there before. The entire language which Jesus employs in regard to it presupposes that it will bring blessings transcending those of the present stage of the kingdom. All imperfections will be done away with, all enemies vanquished, the wheat and the tares will no longer be permitted to intermingle, the full satisfaction with righteousness and the beatific vision of God will be enjoyed.” Vos, G. (2013). The Collected Articles of Geerhardus Vos. Lexham Press.

“Heaven is also, as the abode of God, in relation to earth the ideal pattern to which all things here below ought to conform. In this sense to say that a thing is “of heaven” means not only that it is “of God” in general, but in that specific sense in which the heavenly realities agree with God’s nature” Vos, G. (2013).
