My son and I worked on a #Dell Optiplex 745 with bad capacitors yesterday. Here's a picture of the bad caps replaced with good ones. My son did the soldering work, I did the advising. Teamwork.

I recently got interested in tiling window managers and you can set hot keys to move your focus (I now use vim direction keys, too).
Common keys are h (left), j (down), k (up), l (right). Those are the default vim direction keys.
Did some upgrades and work on the HP Elite 8200 and 8300 Small Form Factor (SFF) desktop computers today. Excellent systems to work with.

The Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz processor is my "go to" for upgrading Socket 775 systems. It's a very noticeable performance boost over a Pentium Dual Core. I'm using this CPU in many of my Socket 775 projects.
You can buy it on ebay for less than $5!

Installed @ManjaroLinux MATE on an HP Elite 8000. Going to test to see how well it does with producing videos for Youtube. Currently has 14GB memory (need another 4GB module to boost up to 16GB), a Samsung 128GB SSD and an Intel E8400 3.0Ghz processor.
The HP Elite 8000 tower and small form factor computers have Socket 775 processors and can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM. The Ultra Small Form Factor (USFF) can have two 4GB sodimms for 8GB total memory.

Testing out an HP dc7900 right now. Will be upgrading it soon. Has only one memory module in right now. These models are good because they have four memory slots. I think I'll test out the @ManjaroLinux MATE edition on this one.
Upgraded a Dell Vostro 200 from a Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2Ghz to an E8400 3.0Ghz CPU. Classic system from @Dell that's a great platform to experiment and learn on. Currently running @SolusProject Linux.
