Looking for examples of #women "geniuses" who had a drastic effect on how we live our daily lives. Do not have to be household names, but must have had a great affect on the course of human history (preferably post 1850). #STEM #STEAM #ChangeTheWorld #womenwhowork #Feminism

Sick today. My pre-schooler just came downstairs to say she was decorating the office with tape and a needle. Sounds like I’m going to be really mad about something tomorrow.

Doing some #freelance writing and editing today! I love working on my own projects, but there’s something about getting outside of your head and working through other people’s writing that’s so cathartic.
Question for the twitterverse (please rt!): Are there any boards/forums out there where people discuss how to choose a career? I'm not talking about industry-specific places. Instead, I mean places that attract a variety of "trying to figure it out" type-individuals.

But you have to learn how to stand up for your beliefs. If my kiddo were school-aged, I hope I’d stand by her decision to walk out. I hope I’d be her ally rather than her enemy. (4)

Either I’m getting super comfortable or just lazy about this whole blogging thing. I just wrote, “I’d suggest reading the first post for context, but hey, it’s your life” on the draft for next week. #aboutajob #bloggingblogger

Does anyone know a cool, passionate, or insightful librarian? I think the blog needs a librarian interview.

So excited to see @MyFavMurder in Columbus for my birthday tonight! It’ll be my first time in Columbus and the first time I’ve been to a live podcast show!

So one way that I do recon for future interviews and blog posts is to follow different twitter communities. I need suggestions! What interesting communities are you following? These can be related to ANY job, field, or industry.

As a shark lover, I’m obligated to retweet this. Also this is your casual reminder that you could’ve been a marine biologist. *wistful sigh* 🦈 xitter.cf/whysharksmatter/status…

Apropos of nothing in particular, here's a thread about why sharks are not terrifying, why they're important, why humans are better off with healthy shark populations than without them, why you should not want them to all die, and how you can help prevent that from happening.

Just finished @flashforwardpod's episode on the future of telepathy, and it has me thinking about how telepathy would affect work. (If this thread interests you AT ALL, I highly recommend listing to @roseveleth's podcast. It's comprehensive, well-research, and so cool.)

Wasting my Wednesday thinking about jobs in the #StarWars universe. All the custodians who used to clean up after ungrateful Jedi padawans. The Jawa teenager who desperately wants to do something other than scavenge. Which selection criteria Maz uses to hire a new bartender...
