Don’t worry, Pat. Not only do I have your back, but so does 99% of the industry. Watching three pheasant hunters sit there for three straight days buying horses, flanked by their hired henchman, while you’ve dedicated yourself to making this game better for everyone was embarrassing, but certainly not surprising.

🚨 HISA BOARD: THE CLOCK IS TICKING Mike Repole has offered to PAY FOR AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION and has given the HISA Board until Tuesday afternoon to act. He already has two highly qualified independent firms in mind. So what exactly is the reason to say no? And this investigation cannot stop at HISA’s front door. Given the apparent integration of The Jockey Club/InCompass systems with HISA’s data infrastructure, the investigation should follow the data wherever it leads, including HISA, its technology vendors, The Jockey Club and InCompass. It should examine the Gramm situation, what led up to it, who had access to what data, data security and technology controls, management oversight, and the spending of industry money. And it must be independent of @LisaLazarusCEO , @hisa_us management and any organization whose systems or conduct fall within the investigation. The industry is compelled to fund HISA. We deserve answers. Repole has removed the cost issue. HISA’S BOARD SHOULD ACCEPT HIS OFFER BEFORE TUESDAY’S DEADLINE. If the Board turns down a fully funded independent investigation, every participant in this industry should be asking one question: WHY? @jockeyclub

The fact that HISA–our bastion of integrity–set up a database that essentially gave those entities even more wagering power, while sparking even further deterioration of confidence among the stakeholders we most need (retail gamblers), is both ludicrous and infuriating.

In Jan 2025, @RealPitino gave a gift to a New AD, who was navigating New World of College Athletics, and a University not prepared for it, that gift, Kenny Klein. Devastated, but blessed to have had this HOF Person these 18 months at SJU. Prayers/Love to Donna and family!

Well said commissioner, NY racing is a cesspool full of incompetent and arrogant scums, they build a 1/2 billion plus monstrosity that will be a ONE DAY WONDER, empty 90% of the time and maybe bussy 2-3 days a year. Kentucky and Oakland is the future of racing.

from someone that has seen and talked to lobbyists in DC for years to ban horse slaughter- believe one thing, @RepoleStable through @PatCummingsNTA are making more headway than ever- this is one of the most important efforts we can do in racing- thank them.
Two more great days in D.C. to keep building support for the ban on horse slaughter. The momentum is real, but the battle is far from over.

🚨 EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN FOR HORSE RACING 🚨 Three weeks from today, the Triple Crown season will be over. Then what? What’s the plan when the spotlight disappears? What’s the strategy when casual fans move on? What leadership is guiding this industry forward? Because under the current “do nothing” leadership model, this sport is heading toward a collapse. Here are 10 emergency action items, in no particular order, that should already be underway: 1. CREATE A NATIONAL EMERGENCY LEADERSHIP TASK FORCE- Bring together tracks, owners, breeders, horsemen, ADWs, media executives, bettors, and aftercare organizations immediately. 2. OPEN THE SIGNAL AND DATA- Allow new media companies, streaming platforms, fantasy operators, and innovators access to racing feeds and data. END THE DATA AND TV DISTRIBUTION MONOPOLY! 3. CREATE A COMMISSIONER STYLE LEADERSHIP OFFICE- The industry desperately needs centralized leadership and crisis management. 4. EMERGENCY AFTERCARE FUNDING- The Jockey Club and Breeders’ Cup Limited should immediately commit major capital toward long-term aftercare infrastructure. 5. IMMEDIATE FANDUEL TV REPLACEMENT PLAN- The industry cannot afford silence while racing loses national television exposure. 6. FULL FINANCIAL TRANSPARENCY- Publish detailed reports on reserves, executive compensation, vendor contracts, loans, and capital deployment. 7. YOUNGER FAN ACQUISITION STRATEGY- Launch fantasy racing, micro-betting, social gaming, and free-to-play contests immediately. 8. FREE LOW-COST STREAMING ACCESS- Stop hiding racing behind fragmented paywalls and inaccessible platforms. 9. NATIONAL AND REGIONAL MARKETING CAMPAIGNS- Where is the coordinated advertising campaign promoting horse racing to America? 10. COMPUTER ASSISTED WAGERING- Bring together industry experts to address CAWs, bettor confidence, and conflicts of interest. Horseplayers deserve transparency and confidence that the wagering system is fair, balanced, and being properly managed. Potential conflicts of interest must be carefully examined and eliminated if necessary. And let’s be very clear… If The Jockey Club and current horse racing leadership are not prepared to move this industry out of the horse-and-buggy era of management and into modern sports marketing, media distribution, technology, streaming, gaming, fantasy, and fan engagement, then they need to step aside and bring in people who are ready to modernize this sport. I am ready to actively help. I’m sure many others across this industry are ready to help as well. But the old guard must be willing to allow new, forward-thinking minds into the picture before it’s too late. Because when the sun sets on Belmont Day, leadership better be ready with a real plan for the future of horse racing. And if they are not ready? Step aside and let people in who are. REFORM IS COMING! REPOST AND SPEAK OUT. @RepoleStable @jockeyclub @BreedersCup

I loved what Diego Pavia did for college ball.. just an absolute sensation. Turning Vanderbilt into a football school quickly. I think a lot of what made him fantastic for College was also gonna be what held him back as an NFL “prospect”.. Size, speed, style of play, personality.. you name it, all of it PERFECT for college not necessarily the prototypical NFL “prospect.” If he gets in a building and finds success I’d be pumped for him and his family.. NOW If it doesn’t work out.. is he not the UFL QB Blueprint? Recognizable name.. can move.. not scared to promote UFL’s getting 800,000 viewers a game, which is good for spring ball, can bump that a bit with some name brands aht there… I think we all assume the clips, regardless of outcome, would go for a bit. Feels like an opportune time for the UFL.. and for the Pavia show.
