Praying for Officer DeLong’s family and the Columbia Police Department wistv.com/2026/08/30/communi…
I spoke against H. 4763, the “HALO Act,” which would put citizens in jail if they exercise their 1st Amendment rights.
This bill is unnecessary and unconstitutional. The 25 feet standard is arbitrary and it will lead to innocent people getting arrested.
The House just voted for a bill that will make it easier to arrest protesters outside abortion clinics. And @SCHouseGOP and @SCFreedomCaucus voted for it!
As South Carolina honored Rev. Jesse Jackson, people waited in line for up to an hour and a half to pay their respects. It was important to Megan and me that Teagan be here, so that one day he can look back and remember the life and legacy of a true American hero.
The University of South Carolina continues to define excellence in academics, athletics, and all that it means to be the flagship institution of this state. Go Gamecocks!
There are no satanic temples in South Carolina, unless that’s what you call your caucus meetings?
I spoke against a bill that would have banned hemp products, like drinks and gummies, in South Carolina.
Why should government infringe on your rights and eliminate local jobs without a compelling reason to do so?

This Republican-sponsored bill would make distributing abortion medication a felony. Republicans are advancing extreme policies that put people at risk. @RepRutherford @SCHouseDems #Scpol #Scdem
I just voted for Sam Johnson and I’m asking all Democrats in Columbia to join me. You can early vote like I did at 2020 Hampton Street or you can vote on Election Day, which is Tuesday, November 18.
Political violence has no place in America. I’m praying for Charlie Kirk’s loved ones and for our country.
Reverend Darby was a good man. He will be missed!

Great to see so many South Carolinians at the No Kings Rally! There is nothing more American than exercising your 1st Amendment rights 🇺🇸
Political violence must never be tolerated. It’s up to all of us to tone down the rhetoric and make it clear that we can resolve our differences peacefully. My heart is with the families of Rep. Hortman, Sen. Josh Hoffman, and the people of Minnesota in the wake of this tragedy.

If there are credible threats, then tell us.
If you’re making it up, then you’re no better than @NancyMace as you both say anything to try to get elected governor. #SCPol
Radical leftist groups and outside agitators are threatening to bring violence and chaos to our communities on June 14 — Flag Day and President Trump’s birthday.
Let me make this crystal clear:
If you attack our officers, destroy property, or threaten innocent lives in South Carolina — you will be arrested, charged, and prosecuted. No excuses. No second chances.
We don’t tolerate mob rule here. Not now. Not ever.
South Carolinians have the right to peacefully protest. Violence in all forms must be condemned — including when President Trump stokes it.
Where were you on January 6 when he incited a mob? Where were you when he pardoned them for assaulting police officers?
What’s happening in California is lawless, dangerous, and completely unacceptable. Officers attacked. Property destroyed. Communities terrorized—while the left stays silent.
Coordinated protests are planned for June 14—Flag Day and President Trump’s birthday.
Violence against law enforcement isn’t “justice.” It’s a crime—and it will be prosecuted.
We won’t tolerate mob rule. South Carolina backs the blue and stands with President Trump. Always.

Praying for the families of those killed last night in an incident of gun violence at a home on Lincoln Street. This tragedy is every parent’s worst nightmare.
