“Batteries can store electricity when it’s plentiful and cheap, and then deploy it when demand is high and electricity is most expensive. That makes our grid more reliable and reduces costs for ratepayers.” - @PaHouseDems Rep. Rivera lancasteronline.com/news/pol…

A gorgeous morning at Philly’s annual Labor Day Parade. Generations of workers fought for the protections we have today. We honor their victories by continuing this fight until all people have safe working conditions, fair wages, and dignity for our labor.

America’s unions are proud to endorse @SBWorkersUnited’s boycott of stand-alone corporate Starbucks stores. Workers are fed up with unchecked corporate greed, and we’re standing with them in their fight for a fair contract. No contract? NO COFFEE! ✊ boycottstarbucks.net/

Clean energy was instrumental in preventing black outs and helping our region get through the recent heat waves. Solar and wind energy is supporting the grid at record numbers and keeping the lights on when we need it most. Read more here- canarymedia.com/articles/gri…

Solar for Schools is a great program for the Commonwealth. It helps schools combat the affordability crisis by having access to clean renewable energy and employs union members for installations across the state. Thank you @RepFiedler for introducing this program and being its biggest supporter. penncapital-star.com/energy-…

Extreme heat is dangerous, but heat illness is preventable.

Every employer should do everything in their power to protect their workers from extreme heat. New York City also requires employers to provide Protected Time Off for heat-related illness and prohibits retaliation against workers for requesting it.

Employers should provide access to water and shade, build in more time for breaks on the hottest days, and move strenuous work to cooler hours whenever possible.

These simple steps can help ensure every worker makes it home safely.

I’m enormously proud for Pennsylvania to have laid the path for national housing action and immensely grateful to our federal partners for their vision and dedication in making it possible for people across the country to live in homes that are warm, safe, and dry. Onward!

When we pay our utilities, it should not be to line the pockets of shareholders. I voted YES on a bill by @RepFiedler and @RepBurgos that puts people before profits. We need to help lower utility bills for all Pennsylvanians while establishing a reasonable return on equity for energy companies. penncapital-star.com/economy…

2024 & 2025 were the two hottest years on record in PA. Nationwide, around 45 people die from heat-related complications at their places of employment. PA has laws to protect dogs & cats from excessive heat, let's make 2026 the year we pass a law protecting working Pennsylvanians

The affordability & cost of living crisis feels like it's only been getting worse lately. Local & state legislators can't control what goes on in Washington, but we can make bold decisions here at home in Philadelphia & PA. Eager to see legislation like HB2224 passed.
Pennsylvania households cannot handle another rate hike. Today, the House Consumer Protection, Utilities, and Technology Committee voted out the Return on Equity bill with BIPARTISAN support! This bill w/ @RepBurgos is one step in making life more affordable for working families.

Ads pop up on our screens almost anytime we use the internet. But did you know that the revenue generated by selling these ads isn't taxed? I'm a co-sponsor of @RepFiedler's bill to start taxing these big tech companies that profit off these ads so they can start paying their fair share after raking in billions. penncapital-star.com/uncateg…
