GOP may be so reflexively anti-union that they want to strip their employees of the chance to form one—but it's not that easy. Under the Congressional Accountability Act, rights that have been implemented can't simply be taken away absent new legislation to change the Act itself.

On Dec. 28, 2018, U.S. citizen Paul Whelan was arrested & wrongfully accused of espionage by the Russian Federation. He’s been held in a prison camp ever since. We must do everything in our power to secure his release. It’s time for Paul to come home to Michigan. #FreePaulWhelan

I just voted for the government funding bill to reverse decades of disinvestment and support the middle and working class. We're bringing home $19M in Community Funding Projects and much more. Happy holidays one and all!
Today, @Congress_Union members in my office voted to ratify the first collective bargaining agreement in the 233-year history of the U.S. Congress.
The workers in my office have delivered an incredible gift to their peers this holiday season by showing you can achieve the power of a written contract guaranteeing workers’ rights in the halls of Congress.
The final government funding package will include *all* of our requested Community Funding Projects, bringing over $19M to Macomb and Oakland Counties!
Certainly, our Community Project Funding initiatives are an exceptional example of this collaboration and an important part of our legacy.
Together, these projects reflect our shared priorities of raising the standard of living for working families, protecting our one precious Earth, and upholding the human rights of every resident of Macomb and Oakland Counties.

I’m of two minds re: the first @NLRB funding increase in nearly a decade.
1. Great tactical victory for a determined workers’ movement that would not take no as an answer. Even with Republican opposition and the filibuster, we can get things done!
2. This is not nearly enough. In a historic year of worker organizing, union elections and employer repression in response, we need full funding for the @NLRB, nothing less. We fight on!
