Over the last 6 years we @MonteRosaTx have pushed the limits on molecular glue degrader design. The term MGD didn’t even exist 6 years ago! Very proud of the team and exited about what the technology holds! Go QuEEN! Aye-Oh!
New research in Science greatly expands the potential target scope of molecular glues and should stimulate the development of new small molecules that can selectively target therapeutically relevant proteins for degradation. Learn more in this week's issue: scim.ag/4lauo8j

Heartbroken to share my mentor & friend Dr. Atul J. Butte @atulbutte has passed. He saw potential in me and turned it into opportunity-- for me, and so many others. We bonded over Star Trek and he was our Captain. Picard’s parting toast in his honor, final episode: “....five-card stud, nothing wild… and the sky’s the limit.” youtu.be/mt3MVP3FizQ?si=JRuH…

Haven't we learned anything about stopping pandemics? When it comes to government policy and COVID-19, the answer is: "no, we don't have the data." I write an op-ed with Eran Bendavid in @statnews: statnews.com/?p=1165584 about our research paper in @ScienceAdvances: science.org/doi/10.1126/scia…

1/2 In 2020, a Lancet report highlighted 12 modifiable key risk factors for #dementia (e.g., traumatic brain injury [TBI], air pollution, loneliness, education, #diabetes, and genetics); some of these factors are being pursued as points of intervention for #dementia. @HarvardMS alum @Renhao4 (now PhD at @Scripps) used Specification Curve Analysis (SCA) in #UKBiobank to examine how risk changes across dementia classifications and interrelationships between risk factors. Consistent factors included #TBI, while factors like #diabetes were less consistent. SCA helps map data-related or analytic heterogeneity to improve risk estimates, important for translation! thx to coauthors @DenaZera @MariaGlymour @Hossein_Estiri @randalljellis Paper: bmcmedicine.biomedcentral.co…

(6/8) Unattributed participants (with a dementia diagnosis but not specified subtype) correlated more with frontotemporal dementia in midlife and with vascular dementia and Alzheimer's in late life based on risk factor profiles.

(7/8) We identified and quantified sources of analytic heterogeneity in dementia risk factors, potentially due to different etiologies or misclassifications. Multivariate regression is crucial for independent estimates. Unclear how intervening on factors might alter risk.
