Never relent, always persist under your own steam. Thank you for your service Mr Niemietz. (An essential follow to those who do not @K_Niemietz).
I know this isn't LinkedIn, but nonetheless, some professional news. After 18 years, five books, three dozen papers and thousands of articles, presentations, podcasts, videos, media appearances etc etc – I am leaving the IEA in a few weeks' time. I am, however, neither joining Novara Media, nor the Guardian, nor SOAS. I am not starting a podcast with Gary Stevenson either. I'll continue to promote extremely uncool, cringey low-status opinions in other ways. Watch this space.

Fantastic debate on the necessity of a US-style Freedom of Speech Bill at @acadofideas’ Battle Of Ideas this morning. Motion carried! With a wide range of topics and speakers, #Battlefest is truly Britain’s marketplace of ideas. You can find the model bill I co-authored with @prestonjbyrne & @legalstyleblog here: adamsmith.org/research/the-f…

We’re getting flying cars and mars colonies before Britain adopts adequate protections for its population’s freedom to speak. Such protections would finally prevent the state from criminalising you, or regulating you into destitution, for mere words - political, online, ‘grossly offensive’, or otherwise. If you were curious about what a Freedom of Speech Bill might look like, @prestonjbyrne, @legalstyleblog & I wrote the model bill in April, here: adamsmith.org/research/the-f… I’ll be explaining why it is necessary, and defending its contents, at @acadofideas’s Battle of Ideas debate tomorrow at noon.

Last day for bookings tomorrow! Those already attending @acadofideas' Battle of Ideas Festival are encouraged to come along to my session on why Britain needs a US-Style Free Speech Bill: battleofideas.org.uk/session… From, 12:15-13:30, Church House, Westminster. Looking forward to a robust debate on the subject!
The @acadofideas's Battle of Ideas Festival will be hosted this coming weekend, and now is the time to book! On Sat 17 Oct, 12:15–13:30, Church House, Westminster, I will be speaking on Britain's eagerness to persecute its people on the basis of speech – a problem which has become so severe that only a First Amendment style bill can roll back all its manifestations. Chaired by the excellent @ProfDHayes. Session here: battleofideas.org.uk/session…

Another terrible week for The Freedom of Speech in Britain. Passing The Freedom of Speech Bill (2026) appears to be the only proportionate solution offered thus far This week; Robert Jenrick (@RobertJenrick) & John Cleese (@JohnCleese) were referred to prevent – Britain's anti-terror watchdog – and @oldspeak_books being visited by police in a textbook fishing exercise over online speech. This clip, from my discussion with the inimitable @NickDixon is of renewed relevance, full video here: youtu.be/1m_wp7YdmMY?si=m2O2…

5 Pillars (@5Pillarsuk), take note. This is how the domestic population views you and your referral of national treasures like Mr Cleese to Prevent. There will be millions more, who are not national treasures, who I also support, and who you will also seek to refer to Prevent. They are also correct, and you have no place here.

I'm informed that certain UK political parties don't like this bill because they're afraid of creating a positive right to freedom of speech. Wondering how many more times people will have to get harassed by cops over social media posts before they figure out that they need it.
Britain needs its own First Amendment. At The Battle of Ideas 2026 (by @acadofideas) I’ll be making the case for the Freedom of Speech Bill (2026), and debating with the public on the need for such a bill! Sat 17 Oct, 12:15–13:30, Church House, Westminster. You can book tickets in advance, at the link provided here: battleofideas.org.uk The session, to be chaired by @ProfDHayes, can be found here: battleofideas.org.uk/session…

Some in the UK free speech movement said our Freedom of Speech Bill (2026) was too radical. How many more times is @JohnCleese going to have to be referred to the UK's counter-terrorism directorate over his speech before they realize the solution is right-sized to the problem?

If wouldn’t have happened if the Freedom of Speech Bill (2026) were law. Doorstep interactions like this are symptom of the total uncertainty both the public and authorities have over where “lawful speech” ends and begins in Britain, thanks to its confused array of differing thresholds and legislation. At present 1.2 million ‘recorded incidents’ involving speech are noted by police each year, inclusive of arrests and convictions. 1 in 50 people have experienced this, or worse. The manufacture of ‘Incidents’ like this will continue (and increase) indefinitely without widespread repeals listed below (from the Freedom of Speech Bill which we wrote, and released via @ASI). Until then, police (and. other free-to-use complaint based services, like professional regulators) will continue to be deployed as enforcers to inconvenience political and personal enemies over speech online which ought be untouchable. The complainants, and authorities, need to be de-fanged entirely. Some of those seeing this interaction with @oldspeak_books have mentioned Non Crime Hate Incidents (NCHIs); these were officially scrapped the day we released the model Freedom of Speech Bill (2026) incidentally – that was the official story, naturally they have simply persisted under another name, and home visits by police remain a routine intimidation tactic in which access beyond PACE powers, confessions, and general abuse of their position of trust is attempted by police. Never let them into your property under any circumstances when one of these fishing exercises occurs, and yes, do film the interaction in full. A guide on that in @ReinersProject, here: reiners.org.uk/knock-knock-w… Until we see the repeals listed below, the Englishman’s uncertainty on what he may say will be constantly leveraged against him.
A policeman came round my house this morning. Because of a post I didn’t even put up. Surely people must have better things to do??

In Britain, it is really just a matter of how badly they wish to destroy you, your life, and your livelihood – over nothing. Not a matter of if they can, but whether they want to.
After 13 long months Greater Manchester Police have released the body cam footage of my arrest. For those of you new here 10 riot police were sent to my house in face shields complete with a battering ram to break the door down if I didn't open. The crime? It was alleged that I walked into a migrant hotel and ate a bowl chicken pasta from the complimentary buffet that was being served to the asylum seekers. This warranted an early morning raid at my property and every electronic device in the house seized for 7 months along with numerous bail conditions. I know have nearly 4 hours of body cam footage to go through from multiple officers which I will chop into a short video to show the absolute over-reach and incompetence from GMP. In the meantime here's a still of me being led out of my property. My lawyer estimates the whole police operation would have cost close to 30 thousand pounds and we are now deciding what the best course of action is going forward seen as the case seems now to be closed.

Hard pill for many to swallow: Britain will not be aided and its most pressing problems will not be halted by safe, middle-of-the-road Tory Boyisms, policy offerings or institutions which are acceptable within the present thinktank, political and media landscape.

It's a good bill! Ideally, it will be picked up by someone before the entire sentient population of Britain has criminal findings against them / is regulated into financial destitution. The bill in question, in @ASI: adamsmith.org/research/the-f…
The @ASI's Freedom of Speech Bill would have provided ironclad statutory protection for both Jenrick's speech, and John Cleese's. There is no other complete proposal circulating today that would achieve this. Why hasn't Reform adopted it? adamsmith.org/research/the-f…

They reported John Cleese last week, me this week. So they want to bully me? Bring it on. An organisation whose editor said Britain is an “abode of infidels”. An Islamophobia definition will be chilling for free speech. I’ll continue to fight it, as I have for many years.

They (wets) are calling it the most “Retrogressive & Immoral” piece of draft legislation of all time. @ReinersProject’s 'British Indigeneity, Nationality & Citizenship Act' (BINCA) provides a means to rectify the post-imperial citizenship era, a streamlined route to citizenship for the British diaspora and algorithmic review for those who present as an economic and social burden. Did you forget to like the post about the essential survival of the English, well, I suppose it could be expected of you... Mudblud.. @ChibiReviews
Just wanted to check with residents of Gosport whether they had considered these optics as potentially earth-shattering and issue-defining, might be too late!

Section 34 dispersal orders (created by the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014) gives the police and PCSOs the power to direct individuals to leave a designated area for up to 48 hours – designed for vagrants, rough sleepers and drunks/crackheads in public spaces. Here, being applied to the entirety of Gosport (population 82,000). We haven’t seen such an abuse of legislation beyond its intended purpose since the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 – designed to contain remote airport and hospital disease outbreaks – was used to place the entirety of Britain under house arrest (lockdown, of 2020).
We are through the looking glass now. Police have put an entire British town under a Section 34 dispersal order (meaning they can even order residents to leave and not return) just so they can import a boat full of illegal immigrants.

This is the sparknotes everyone should have read a very long time ago. Hannan isn’t doing this on conjecture, a wealth of history, science and etymology supports this basic claim. More on that here, in terms of what our nation is called : reiners.org.uk/britain-engla… Here, on what an Englishman actually is (from @Tom_Rowsell): reiners.org.uk/what-is-an-en… And here, in terms of how to dispel this nonsense in the course of creating proportionately radical legislation resetting Britain’s nationality/citizenship arrangement (full bill and explainer enclosed): reiners.org.uk/a-british-cit… All, as ever, in @ReinersProject
Britishness is a nationality, the best nationality you can hold. Englishness is an ethnicity. Suella is not English in this second sense – and neither am I. We are both fiercely proud to be British. But if Suella’s kids settled in, say, New Zealand, would they say “My people were English”? The people accusing her of racism imagine that we are still in the 2010s, when you could shut someone down by using the r-word. It doesn’t work any more.

There is a visible confusion about what an Englishman is this week (again), this has been accompanied by legal reification of citizenship under the 1981 British Nationality Act as interchangeable with ethnicity, pouring out of the @spectator and our legacy commentators. Amid this wilful and ongoing rejection of reality, it is an excellent time to revisit @Tom_Rowsell's article "What is An Englishman?" In @ReinersProject: reiners.org.uk/what-is-an-en…
