Wanna know why South Carolina bench dominates & SC players aren’t hitting the transfer portal but wait their turn to shine?
This is Dawn Staley after title 2 years ago shouting out all the players who didn’t get in the game. This is leadership.

2 great moments from the ff. Paige saying that one call doesn’t determine the game shows accountability and leadership👏🏻and Dawn taking a moment to thank Caitlin for her contribution. 2 classy women role modeling how women lead. Women supporting women is how we grow our game🏀

AAU used to be for the top 5%. Now everyone has to participate because they are all going to get “recruited”. It has now evolved into a giant recreational league for athletes who should be working on their skills. We need to fix the system.

If your club coach says you must drop other sports and only focus on one sport, know this. Every player I know who played volleyball for the University of Nebraska played multiple sports in high school, and they were better volleyball players because they did.

THIS is what taking ownership sounds like: after being badgered numerous times by a pair of St. John's reporters about no foul being called on the final possession, Rick Pitino sets them straight regarding refs (language warning). #Creighton #GoJays

You won't find this stat in the NBA box score, it's the silent statistic and is how body language wins championships!

The best players in the world miss almost 3 out of 4 shots when they are contested at the rim!
This happens when we choose to play with speed in moments where we should focus on control!

‼️Why Kids Quit Sports‼️
70% of children are dropping out of organized sports by the age of 13.
5 main reasons:
1. It’s no longer fun.
2. They have lost ownership of the experience.
3. They don’t get playing time.
4. They are afraid to make mistakes.
5. They feel disrespected.
Therefore…it is our obligation as coaches, parents, and adults to:
1. Create life-giving experience.
2. Instill a “Get to vs. Have to” mentality.
3. Set up value system not based on playing time.
4. Encourage risk…”If you aren’t making mistakes, you aren’t doing anything.”
5. Love BIG!

PLAYERS: Your body language conveys a message to your teammates and coaches. It can show others what kind of attitude, energy, toughness, focus, unselfishness, and maturity you possess. Your body language never whispers ... it screams!

Athletes. The game will speed you up. So if you are not practicing taking shots at game speed this summer you’re training your body to be a shot taker not a shot maker.

Basketball is not just a game, it's a reflection of life. Sometimes you score, sometimes you miss, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but the key is to keep moving forward, learn from your mistakes, and keep striving for success. #BasketballPhilosophy

You might suck as a teammate if you:
Pout/whine
Are lazy, selfish, soft
Repeatedly make bad decisions
Always look for excuses
Force up bad shots
Are untrustworthy
Are a ball stopper
Chill on defense
Never say a word
Blame refs/coaches/teammates
Have bad body language/attitude
