We refresh our skills all the time. But do you refresh your knowledge as much? Sirens, Lights, and lawyers is written by a street medic turned lawyer. You’d be surprised how much you were taught wrong about EMS legality, and how much you don’t know amzn.to/3JWfEtf

It’s 5 am in Georgia. It’s 70 degrees with 98% humidity. That’s it. That’s the tweet.

This is a helpful thread to look into.
Hey #NurseTwitter and #MedTwitter … especially #EMTwitter Give me examples of words used to describe pts that are awful (junkie, fatty, etc) … I’m working on a list of words to NOT use, and better alternatives, for our new grads! Noncompliant already has its own slide.

Paramedic pay should, at a minimum, allow for paramedics to live in their service area. That’s it, that’s the tweet

Today marks the start of #EMSWeek2023! An ode to our EMS heroes, with today's theme as self-care & mental health. The image "Finding Peace" by @DanSunPhotoArt encapsulates this beautifully. To those of you who sacrifice of yourselves to help others, Thank You! #StaySafe

Not all hypoglycemic patients require a D50 Push. Some/most will improve with a d10/d5 infusion, often with less “crash” later. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. #PreHospitalCare #Paramedic #MedicineInTheStreets

If I already didn’t love #Rhianna already. Doing a WHOLE halftime show, pregnant. Would’ve sealed the deal. Go on girl! 🥰🥰

I’m starting to think the #SpyBaloon isn’t Chinese. Y’all. It’s been floating at 60,000ft for several days. Nothing made in China works that well, for that long.

This is where community paramedicine is breaking the stigma that “only doctors can do that”
"allowing paramedics to stitch minor wounds or cuts" For real? Do paramedics receive any training to stitch wounds? Are they just gonna pull out a tray of sterile instruments and do the stitching on the side of the road or in the farmer's field? saskatchewan.ca/government/n…

It’s so amazing to see @HamlinIsland using his voice after, what could’ve been a tragedy, for so much good. As a paramedic who has performed CPR so many times, and witnessed how it can save - especially when performed early on, I, #MedTwitter and #EMSTwitter thanks you!
Teaming up with @american_heart in a BIG way!   The Damar Hamlin 3 for Heart challenge is live! 3 easy steps to save a life❤️ @tombrady, @michelleobama, and @kingjames you’ve all been challenged! Throw them 🫶 's up! #3forHeart heart.org/3

I wish I had enough faith in myself to submit a talk to @heavyhelmet Crash and Learn ‘23. I can’t even think of a topic 🤦🏻‍♀️🥴

Anyone. Please explain to me why CPR should be withheld on an overdose patient. How is that “low risk” for exposure. Someone make it make sense for me. Please.

This! Fixed and dilated is simple one sign in a bucket of things but it is not always specific to poor outcomes.

I’m going to go a step further and say this. If you a prehospital provider and you are working a cardiac arrest in a patients home, please leave their home in the closest manner to how you found it. Even if it’s asking fire/L.E to clean up if you can’t.

Husband who’s never driven in real snow •”WHERE ARE THE LANES!” Me, the northern wife • “Look, snow rules are different. There are no lanes. Drive in the smushed down snow and don’t hit anything. The wall, other cars, your brakes. That’s it”
