I have not known a ‘prosperous’ year in my entire adult life.

this is when things really start to get good there is a reason Elon tweeted Longevity is coming.
Anthropic is interested in math, but in terms of their moat against OpenAI they are investing heavily into biology. They have some major announcements coming in biology, and they’re even having teams without traditional biology backgrounds tackle complex problems in the life sciences. As said I expect to hear those sometime in Q4.

“Living standards are falling for us.” Yet UK banks just posted £29bn in half-year profits. Lloyds’ profits jumped 99% to £2.3bn as mortgage rates hit 6%, while Shell doubled its profits to £8bn. This isn’t just an economic crisis; it’s a wealth transfer.

Reminder that there is no need for living standards to fall, pain is not inevitable, everything can be improved starting Monday, they are doing this to protect the rich who own the govt and telling you this below because there is absolutely no threat to them whatsoever.

The fuck is wrong with our ruling class lately? Every channel is 'prepare for war, stockpile water, living standards will fall' and now we've reached 'have you tried eating out of bins'.

capitalism has convinced people that being exhausted, overworked and constantly worried about money is just part of being an adult. that’s not living. that’s surviving a system that profits from your struggle.

"Your body is a temple" now has new meaning - it is very likely we are the generation to reach longevity escape velocity. Every tiny heath decision you make from now can tip you over one edge ♾️... Or the other 💀

This might be a hot take, but the real AI divide will not be rich versus poor or young versus old. It will be curious versus afraid. The tools are nearly free and getting better every month. The only thing standing between most people and that leverage is a decision.

Read the replies for the first time I am seeing people being receptive to longevity instead of being the usual pro-death. Maybe the mindset is really shifting

Well… This is the most hopeful post on longevity I remember Elon making. (Previously, he has not indicated an interest in — or an expectation of — radical longevity, life extension, or human age reversal.) Excellent. bio/acc e/acc

If Elon went all in on longevity, I predict it would take him no more than 5 years to get us to longevity escape velocity.
