Federal agents arrested Zhao Jing at Los Angeles International Airport because she was accompanying Zhang Wanying, a Chinese Communist Party spy, who was about to leave the country. Zhang Wanying was acting on orders from Chinese government officials to monitor the son of ROC President Lai Ching-te in the United States. When it was discovered that Zhao Jing had overstayed her visa, ICE arrested her.
