Fiancée of ICE Detainee Runs GKFF-Supported Eastside Rise While Raising Money for him. Jordan Mazariegos, a Tulsa resident and DACA deferred recipient, was arrested by Tulsa Police on October 10, 2026, for public intoxication and obstructing an officer. His arrest booking has dropped off so you can't verify he had an ICE hold ---but found that Muglist shows he had one. He was taken into ICE custody in the days before his wedding, scheduled for October 17th according to his fiancée, Luisa Krug, the executive director of Eastside Rise, who set up a fundraiser. In 2020, the foundation helped fund the Mi Gente zero-interest loan program for undocumented business owners who did not qualify for federal COVID aid. The foundation has additionally funded the Tulsa Immigrant Resource Network (TIRN) at the University of Tulsa College of Law, which provides services to Tulsa’s NONCITIZEN population. GKFF also maintains a major focus on North Tulsa through its InvestNorth initiative. Mazariegos arrived from Mexico as a young child with his parents illegally; his family settled in Tulsa in the mid-1990s. In a 2017 OSU profile he said: “Interestingly, the person that my dad met on his journey to the United States, my dad never saw him again. We moved [to Tulsa] because he called my dad and told him he had an apartment ready for us. So, my dad started paying rent and brought us over and we started our life in Tulsa. I don’t even know [the guy’s] name.” An anonymous donor later paid for his college at TCC and OSU where he studied accounting. Looks like he had a lot of financial help while millions of us "Americans" spent years struggling to pay off our college loans or have family members paying off their student loans. In a 2017 interview with KOTV, Mazariegos said at a law-making level, at a legislative level, it’s not so friendly (for iillegal immigrants). He said, “It’s bad. We feel our brothers and sisters from the Muslim community are already feeling that impact, and we’re afraid that we’re next.” DACA offers temporary deferred action and work authorization but is not permanent status. It can be affected by criminal charges.
