From @WSJopinion: The young MAGA socialists are here. Many conservatives in Generation Z think the American Dream is gone. Some of us are building it, writes Emil Barr.

WATCH @stevecortes @corbintrent @RealEmilBarr
Despite what @corbintrent (who works for Bernie and Sanders) and @stevecortes (who advised Trump) both want you to think:
It’s not the billionaires' fault you aren’t successful.
It’s not the immigrants' fault either.
Gen Z is starting more businesses than any other generation.
It’s never been easier to become a millionaire.
Politicians just don’t want to tell that story because it’s easier to sell outrage and socialism.

Housing prices may be higher than in the past, but it's our expectations that have shifted even higher
It seems people are afraid of hard work these days and not willing to be patient and persistent
The sooner you learn no one is coming to save you, the sooner you'll take control of your life

53% OF SELF-IDENTIFIED CONSERVATIVES UNDER AGE 40 SUPPORT GOVERNMENT-RUN GROCERY STORES
This story is WILD....
Heartland/Rasmussen polled 1,496 likely voters aged 18-39:
- 74% say the cost of housing in America has hit crisis level
- 58% support government-run grocery stores in every town
- 62% back a nationwide rent freeze + more government housing
- 51% want a democratic socialist to win the White House in 2028
Now the part that should stop you:
- 70% of self-identified CONSERVATIVES say housing is at crisis level
- 53% of them want government grocery stores
- 56% want the rent freeze
- 42% want the democratic socialist to win
🤯🤯🤯
@RealEmilBarr (who's already amassed a net worth of $20M at age 23) argues in the WSJ that the anger is earned but misdirected; zoning, licensing and permitting are creating issues, not markets.
To quote Emil: "I think my generation is getting capitalism completely wrong, because those of us who are actually building companies are showing that opportunity hasn’t disappeared nearly as completely as some young people believe."
He continues: "If those barriers are making life harder for young people, the answer is to remove them. It isn’t to convince an entire generation that capitalism itself is the barrier."
Meanwhile Gen Z out-started Boomers on new businesses for the first time ever. 9% of new formations vs 5%.
So which half of the under 40 generation will win?
My money is on those actually starting their own businesses, not the ones looking for handouts.

Housing is unaffordable. Entry-level jobs are disappearing.
42% of young conservatives now say they want a democratic socialist to win the presidency in 2028, per @RealEmilBarr in the WSJ.
The percentage of Republicans who view capitalism favorably has fallen from 72% in 2019 to 61% today.
Millions feel priced out of the American Dream. They’re losing faith in capitalism and realizing that owning a home and raising a family may never be within reach.
Society isn’t ready for the consequences of this.
young MAGA and liberals are both becoming socialists (wanting the gov to fix their problems)
i just wrote in @WSJ about the dangers of Gen Z embracing nanny-state mentality.
stop drinking the anti-capitalism Kool-aid.
Americans live in the most abundant capitalist economy in the world.
you could blame the gov’t for your problems.
or you could make enough money to make them go away.

🚨🇺🇸 GEN-Z CEO: “WORK HARDER… CRY LESS”
22-year-old Emil Barr built 2 companies worth $20M by skipping weekends, ignoring vacations, and probably forgetting what sunlight feels like.
He’s roasting Gen Z for wanting a 4-day work week while complaining about rent, saying the secret isn’t luck - it’s sacrifice.
Barr even name-drops @elonmusk sleeping on factory floors and Kobe’s 4 a.m. workouts.
The message?
Financial freedom in your 20s is possible… if you’re willing to trade friends, hobbies, and REM sleep for endless grind.

ENTREPRENEUR: “ELON MUSK SLEPT ON THE FACTORY FLOOR - THAT’S MY INSPIRATION”
Emil Barr:
“If Elon could build @Tesla sleeping on the floor, people like Kobe Bryant trained at 4am in the off-season...
So, I can give up work-life balance to build my business."
Source: @foxandfriends, @BarrEmil9865, @elonmusk
So here’s the hard truth: extraordinary accomplishments require extraordinary sacrifices.
@elonmusk slept on factory floors at Tesla and lived off $1 per day in his 20s.
Kobe Bryant trained at 4 am, even in the off-season.
J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter in coffee shops to save on heating bills.
I argue that in today’s economy, it’s completely possible to reach financial freedom by your mid-20s, but you can’t do it without being prepared to sacrifice.
But that’s not something many young people want to hear.
Thank you to @foxandfriends for having me on.

From @WSJopinion: I eliminated work-life balance entirely and just worked. When you front-load success early, you buy the luxury of choice for the rest of your life, writes @BarrEmil9865. on.wsj.com/4fEf81m
From my Op-Ed in the Observer this week:
80,000 jobs eliminated by AI in 6 months.
And we're still pretending our education system can handle what's coming.
@Microsoft: 6,000 cuts
@IBM: 8,000 layoffs
@Salesforce: 1,000 roles gone
@Intel: 15-20% of factory workers
While politicians, bureaucrats, and administrators are debating whether AI will take jobs, it's already happening.
Of course new opportunities will be created, but only if the displaced workers have access to education required.
But… the average university takes 18 months just to approve a new course.
When a student graduates in 2028, they'll leave school with 2023 knowledge.
In the AI and tech realm… that's ancient history.
The cashiers, warehouse staff, and entry-level workers who are most likely to face displacement can’t afford skill development courses on the private market.
That's a recipe for the largest unemployment crisis since the Great Depression.
Unemployment systems operate on assumptions of three to five percent rates during recessions, not a 25-50 percent displacement.
THAT’S the problem we’re actively solving at Flashpass.
We’re already partnering with @OwlX_ai, @Intel and @khanacademy.
With conservative estimates saying 40-80 million Americans will need training for new career fields, there’s a lot left to do.
