ALT Autism research (ARCH) Seminar Series Speaker: Reesha Zahir, PhD student at the University of Edinburgh Title of talk: mechanisms underpinning sleep problems and links to mental ill health in autistic children and adolescents. Abstract: In her PhD, Reesha utilises a mixed-methods approach to longitudinally characterise and stratify trajectories of sleep and mental health problems in autistic young people. This talk will highlight findings from her first approach, which involved multilevel growth curve modelling of secondary data from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC). She will also touch on her second approach, which involved collecting primary data from a small cohort of autistic adolescents. Finally, Reesha will describe how participatory methods were incorporated throughout the project. Date: 17th of April 2024 at 14:00 on Zoom.
