"Elevate creators and artists above the influence of traditional gatekeepers."
The pitch was ultra-fast NFTs & insanely low mint fees. Press called it "Shopify for NFTs." Solana congratulated the team 3 minutes later.
A lot of the 2021 mints we post about ran on what @metaplex shipped next.

- 12/9/21: 30,000 projects in the ecosystem

FRAKT didn't use Candy Machine. It minted 10,000 fractals off its own program 🌀
7/19/21: someone pulled the first Rainbow FRAKT & @fraktcollection posted it: "How beautiful is this"
About a day later, ~2,000 frakts were out. 50% by 7/24. Then 1:12pm UTC on 7/25: "10,000 #FRAKTS ALL MINTED OUT"
The twist: those July tokens were bare SPL tokens. No metadata.
- Price: 0.5 SOL each
- From 7/29/21 the program started swapping them
- Old token sent to the incinerator
- New version minted with Metaplex metadata
