After a non-fiction round including @GabrielSCGavin 's Ashes of Our Fathers , I've moved on to the equally excellent Martyr! By Kaveh Akbar.

This has fast become one of my early recos of the year for anyone to read. Engrossing, deeply researched and well-written, I'm glad @GabrielSCGavin took the time to put pen to paper.
Really looking forward to dig into the book Ashes of our Fathers by @GabrielCSGavin after finishing Dallaire's The Peace.
Y'know when a very anticipated read comes out while you're already reading another book...
Just started and went thru the first 48 pages in a single go.

On to my second read of the year, @realBobWoodward 's War.
I know it's unfair to name a book that has not been published yet but it's easily my pal Aram Mrjoian's Waterline--preorder here if you haven't yet:

My further thoughts on it are here!
Just recently had the honour of being one of the first to read my extremely talented friend @AMrjoian 's debut novel, The Waterline, releasing next year. Yes, the writing inside is just as beautiful as this cover design.
As recommended by my pal @ArmanBazz , whose suggestions never miss, reading The Fall of Language in the Age of English, by Minae Mizumura.

gosh, Waterline, not "The Waterline."
My bad.

but also the book is full of light and love and fun. You can't help but chuckle the first time someone tries Armenian brandy and finds it, well, brutal (you get used to it, trust me), or when a family has to resort to a major fridge cleanup because of far too much leftover food.
Anyway--read this book when it's out! It deserves your attention! And check out @AMrjoian 's extensive other writing to get a taste in the meantime :)
