Today #CatchUpWithCancer campaign, Kelly's father Craig & @prof_price hand in the petition calling for a more urgent response to the cancer backlog.
We need an urgent plan from Government + a cancer funding "super-boost" to prevent tens of thousands more cancer deaths.
Our #CatchUpWithCancer analysis featured on @BBCBreakfast showing the human cost of cancer care in England. 🏥
More than 2,800 extra patients would need to be treated each month to hit the Government's March 2027 target.

Radiotherapy saves lives every single day, yet too many patients face delays and outdated equipment.
We must invest, modernise and deliver for patients, including training and recruiting more consultant radiographers to meet growing demand.
It’s time to #CatchUpWithCancer

On #WorldCancerDay I'm pleased to support @CR_UK's call to make this Parliament a turning point for cancer & to highlight the work of Radiotherapy UK. I'm proud of the progress we are making on this in Scot as the best performing nation in UK for access to radiotherapy @neilcgray

Only 33.7% of cancer patients in the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire Integrated Care Board area can access radiotherapy treatment.
On World Cancer Day, I joined Radiotherapy UK to raise awareness of the need to improve access to deliver life-saving treatment.

England’s new National Cancer Plan talks big on AI and genomics but says little on staff, scanners and radiotherapy. In this new video, @DrAmarahmed talks to @prof_price , @QUBCancerProf & @Check4Cancer with @RadiotherapyUK @RTherapy4Life on whether we can #CatchUpWithCancer.
1 in 2 of us will get cancer. Targets have been missed for years, and many patients aren’t getting treatment on time.
📺 Watch, RT & consider emailing your MP about cancer waits, radiotherapy access and proper funding for the plan.

Cancer waits for no one. Yet delays in treatment are costing lives.

I am supporting Radiotherapy UK with their #catchupwithcancer campaign. In June 2025, only 65.9% of cancer patients in South Shields were treated within 62 days compared to the operational standard of 85%. I will continue to monitor this and offer support where I can 🏥

Met with NHS Dentistry 🦷at Parliament to talk about how to get more patients seen on the NHS, and get more NHS dentists, and Radiotherapy UK about their crucial work supporting cancer patients, and backing their calls to tackle cancer waiting times in the NHS.
