Man arrested in Kentucky for riding on a horse while drunk, a claimed violation of Ky St. 189.520, operating a non-motor vehicle while intoxicated. But is a horse a "vehicle"? No Kentucky cases on this, but police report on left, code's definition of a "vehicle" on right.

🎉 Congrats to @marissascavuzzo, winner of the 2023 Eppendorf & Science Prize for Neurobiology for research revealing how specialized glial cells embedded within the walls of the gut, which operate independently of the brain, fine-tune intestinal function. scim.ag/4Jd

Breaking News: Biologists grew mice embryos halfway to term in a mechanical womb. The work may one day raise profound questions about whether other animals, even humans, should or could be cultured outside a living womb. nyti.ms/3eQQT2S

OHIOANS: state officials meet Monday to decide whether to pre-pay for the return postage on our absentee ballots. They absolutely should - it's the most straightforward, nonpartisan way to ensure every Ohioan's vote is counted this November. RT if you agree.

Outrageous to listen to @realDonaldTrump @secAzar @SteveFDA claiming a 35% improved survival in an observational preprint study compared w/ late-treated patients. There's no evidence to support any survival benefit. 2 days ago FDA's website stated there was no evidence for an EUA

Today is Saturday. There are 46 days left, the U.S. Census Bureau says, to count around 56,000,000 homes that have not yet participated in the #2020Census. Your household can still respond at: - My2020Census.gov - 1-844-330-2020

With no clear insight into if a vaccine actually works (ie prevent infections) or if there are serious side effects, could not disagree more with below call to blindly administer to millions of “informed volunteers”.
Should we vaccinate now? @StevenSalzberg1 @Forbes 1) To be clear: No one is recommending skipping phase 3 trials. Those must be completed. Question is should a parallel pathway be available to people willing to take the risk & volunteer for early access google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.…

What’s especially ridiculous about Tata is that they *nominated* him to the position—and he’s withdrawing *only* because he wasn’t going to get confirmed. It’s a pretty messed-up system when the guy who the Senate was about to nix can effectively end up with the same job anyway.
This is all a naked end-run around 5 U.S.C. § 3345(b). That provision of the Federal Vacancies Reform Act bars Tata from being named the Acting Undersecretary because he was nominated to the same job—*unless* he’s spent 90 days as the “first assistant.” That clock is now running.
