The reason Michael Carrick is still in charge of Manchester United is simple: he fits the exact profile of a manager INEOS can easily control. - Someone who protects underperforming players. - Someone who takes the blame for the owners' failures. - Someone who stays quiet instead of exposing the club's poor management. INEOS don't want a manager who challenges them; they want someone who follows orders. In short, they want a puppet.🫰

I cannot believe the backing Michael Carrick is getting still whilst we’re 17th 1 win in 9. If this was a foreign manager who never played for the club the fanbase would be hounding him out. When Carrick does eventually get sacked, I never want an ex player at the club again

Im getting to the point now whereby im convinced Carrick could actually lose every single game 5-0, relegate us and our fanbase would still give the bloke a lap of honour and serenade him out of Old Trafford. It’s just weird at this point. A club chained to its past in every way
🚨 Manchester United’s trip to London for their match with Chelsea not off to the best of starts. The travelling party got stuck in traffic on the way to Stockport and the service (from Piccadilly) had to be held so they didn’t miss it. Apparently, when they did board, Michael Carrick was cheered by fellow passengers while some of his players were booed… Not a major drama. Delay was around seven minutes. #mufc

I don’t know if it’s just me, but losing under Amorim never hurt this much because you could actually see what he was trying to build. There was a clear vision and something to believe in. Now we can even win games and I still feel frustrated because I genuinely don’t know what direction this club is heading in. It’s a strange feeling.

Been saying it for a long time. Fanbase one of if not the biggest issue at the club. Standards start from the fanbase. Can you imagine Real Madrid fans clapping the Real Madrid players if they were 17th with 7 points out of 27?
I’m shocked that the fans are applauding them.

just another causal loss to make it 7 points in 9, but it's all good, we had a good first half. let's move onto the next. business as usual from the lads! 💪🏽❤️
🚨 Michael Carrick: “I’m just looking forward to getting the boys ready for midweek now.” #MUFC

Do you all now understand the" football heritage" Mourinho talked about. Do you all now understand the "open heart surgery, " Ragnick talked about. Do you all now understand what Amorim meant by" the club needs to be changed if we can't handle things maturely as a club"

You can like Michael Carrick but still feel there are far better candidates to sit in the dugout. It doesn’t make you a bad person

Can we stop pretending two things can’t be true at the same time. It’s not all on Carrick- especially today and alot need to go before him, but he’s also not good enough and should have been sacked already 👍

Ruben Amorim was much closer to building something special at Manchester United than many people are willing to admit. There was a clear structure, discipline, identity and a team slowly adapting to his football philosophy. All he needed was time, proper backing and a few quality signings to take the project forward. Instead, the focus shifted to Kobbie Mainoo’s minutes, Marcus Rashford’s return and endless media controversies surrounding the manager. The United media and certain sections of the fanbase allowed personal agendas to become bigger than the rebuilding process. Every decision was turned into an argument, every player left on the bench became a crisis, and Amorim was constantly scrutinised while the players who failed to deliver on the pitch escaped the same level of criticism. Manchester United didn't just lose a manager; they may have abandoned a project that deserved more patience.

Lazio supporters have reduced season-ticket sales from nearly 30,000 to fewer than 4,500. That is how serious their protest against Claudio Lotito is. Yet they still support the players, travelling to away matches and filling away sections. They are boycotting the ownership, not abandoning the team. Manchester United fans should take note. Boycott home matches, support the players away from home and send the owners a clear message: we love Manchester United, but we are tired of those running the club. Stop giving them money while demanding change.

You miss this Bollywood because no one cared if the actor name was Rehman or Rahul. No one cared if rehman married puja aur Dsouza married aarti. No one cared if villian was varun and the hero was abir. We were living in a true secular world

Ruben Amorim had 11 first team players out and AFCON to contend with when Jason Wilcox was telling him to pick better teams around last years Christmas fixture list…I don’t remember too much “mitigation” being awarded then. What a load of nonsense as usual from @AndyMitten
🚨🗣️ @AndyMitten on why Michael Carrick is still in position as Manchester United head-coach: "There’s a number of factors. Lack of obvious available replacements. There’s more patience with Michael Carrick given the mitigation with the injuries. Another point is somebody said to me that the penny has finally dropped with a lot of the players. The reaction from the Stretford End on Sunday has stung some of these players." [@TOTDevils]

This leadership continue an almost unprecedented run of getting every big call wrong. You could flip a coin for a decision and not have made this many mistakes in a row. We are being run by random rules like who would get on with Jason Wilcox.

Good luck to the committed Carrick this weekend. But this #mufc regime are worse than Woodward's. Not the first time they've lost their nerve when it comes to a necessary change of manager and the incompetence is rather breathtaking now. Or they're looking after themselves.

I'm no owner or CEO but this is how to run this crisis for Dummies. 1. Sack Carrick yesterday and put a statement out about standards and ambition 2. Sack Wilcox this morning and put another statement about ambition and the ruthless desire to get there. 3. Announce the new manager

The fact that United haven’t dismissed Carrick yet says it all about those making the decision. Can smell the incompetence from here.

The more I look at Manchester United’s current state, the more I think about Ruben Amorim. I genuinely believe he was the man meant to take us back to the top. He understood the problems, challenged the culture and wasn’t afraid to make unpopular decisions. He wasn’t perfect, but he had a vision. We gave up on him far too soon, and I fear we’ll regret that decision for years to come.
