Congratulations to our @RITscience colleagues in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science on receiving a $2.2 million NASA award to continue RIT’s longstanding collaboration with the Landsat program! Led by Rehman Eon and Aaron Gerace, the team will use RIT developed simulation and modeling capabilities to help prepare Landsat 10 for its planned 2031 deployment. This work builds on an incredible RIT- NASA partnership that dates back to 1981 and continues to demonstrate the impact of our imaging science scholars, alumni, faculty, and researchers. Congratulations to the entire team on this outstanding achievement and for continuing RIT’s legacy of world-changing research! Well done! rit.edu/news/nasa-awards-rit…

Congratulations to Dr. Feng Cui, Professor in the RIT @RITscience, Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences, and his research team on their publication in Nature Communications (nature.com/articles/s41467-0…) This innovative study reveals that DNA sequence patterns play a fundamental role in shaping nucleosome positioning and transcription factor binding across the genome. By identifying four distinct nucleosomal DNA classes and linking them to gene regulatory mechanisms, the team provides a new DNA-centric framework for understanding chromatin organization and gene regulation. This work represents a significant advance in our understanding of how genomic sequences influence access to genetic information. This is an excellent study! Well done by all!
