Interesting to watch Sofi stock price fall towards the $14.54 top range of the capped call for the 2029 notes.
At that point we may have almost 200 million shorted shares and about 6 to 7 days to cover.
Buying back those converts with cash, you will effectively buy stock back at 9.45.
Another way is to issue stock to the converts at the 14.54 a share price and then take the capped call money, which effectively means you issued those new shares at about $22.25.
And that takes out a lot of the delta hedging.
Either strategy could make short sellers reevaluate their exposure... not a great short right here

You might notice something strange at the bottom of this shot from VISION QUEST. On the VHS, LaserDisc, and early DVD releases, the film was presented in a full frame or "open matte" format to fill the screen of the 4:3 TVs of the era. This exposed a portion of the 35mm frame that was "matted" (or covered up) for its 1.85:1 widescreen theatrical release.

Not every U.S. bank can issue one today. Under the GENIUS Act, only an approved permitted payment stablecoin issuer can do it. In practice that means a few categories of banks and bank-like entities

SoFi Bank, N.A. is the first nationally chartered, FDIC-insured bank with a live payment stablecoin (SoFiUSD / SOFID). The OCC approved an operating subsidiary for issuance and redemption, including SoFi-branded coins and white-label coins for third parties.
Can apply through their federal regulator
National banks and federal savings associations: OCC
State member banks: Federal Reserve
State non-member banks: FDIC
Credit unions: NCUA
They generally issue through an approved subsidiary, not just by flipping a switch on the existing bank charter. They also have to meet 1:1 reserve, redemption, capital, and reporting rule
Large banks that have committed, but not launched yet A 21-firm group including Bank of America, Citi, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Capital One, and PNC plans to form a company in the second half of 2026 and target a USD stablecoin in the first half of 2027. That is still a plan, not a live product.
