TO ALL PRESS MEMBERS WHO ARE WRITING ARTICLES ABOUT TWISTED TOWER FOR TOMORROW: I did not make this game solo. My partner in crime, my friend, and the incredibly talented environment artist, weapon designer, and level designer Felipe Caravelli was pivotal for the whole project. Also, the enemy art is from the talented @brynethart !!! Everyone, please retweet so they hear this. Press *want* me to be solo but it's not true. That said: the core team behind this game is TINY. It really was basically me and Felipe for the most part, but lots of other subs and what not were crucial in partnering alongside the project

Every person who wants to make a difference at some point has to decide whether they care more about the peoples lives they’re changing or the peoples opinions they’re offending.

This line won't leave my head recently: "It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit." From "Don't Quit" (believed to be written by Rev. Wade Watts) Always been a favorite, but hits deeper recently Whats the quote that brightens your day? #motivation #buildinpublic

Where do you get your game assets? I'm starting to work on my first game and I want to focus on performance and feel rather than art to start. Drop your favorite sources. Starting with Godot but will eventually be unreal too (I hope) #indiedev #solodev #gamedev

I found the escape route for software engineers. Stop being just a software engineer. Use your engineering skills in every other industry – you'll dominate everyone else. It's like the late 90s English craze in China. English by itself had no value, but English + any other skill was unstoppable. Or being attractive. Attractive by itself is just decoration, but attractive + anything else = winning combination. Engineers + anything = winning combination. We were building marketing workflows and realized our marketing team couldn't design automated processes. They're great at marketing, but terrible at systematic thinking. So we started hiring 25-year-old engineers with good internet instincts. Engineering skills + marketing sense = marketing automation superpowers. The person making my social media videos? Former engineer. Engineers have systematic thinking that other industries desperately need. Everyone else approaches problems intuitively. Engineers approach them architecturally. When you combine systematic design thinking with domain expertise in any field, you become the person who can build AI-native companies in that industry. Don't compete with other engineers for engineering jobs. Use your engineering mindset to revolutionize industries that haven't been engineered yet. Every industry will eventually be run by engineers who learned that industry. #SoftwareEngineering #CareerTransition #AI #SystemsThinking #Automation #FutureOfWork #Innovation #TechCareers #AIEngineering #CrossDisciplinary

I built a side project last year that made $0. Total flop. Nobody used it. Nobody cared. And it was one of the best things I did. Because I built it for fun. No client brief. No deadline. No "what's the ROI?" Just a problem I found interesting. It reminded me why I started doing this. Before the agency. Before the proposals. Before the invoices. There was a version of me who just loved building things. That version is easy to lose when every hour has a dollar attached to it. If you're feeling burned out - build something useless. On purpose. It'll fix something no amount of revenue can.

A solved problem creates value. Value creates demand. Demand creates income. Focus on solving problems and building trust. Then the money comes as a byproduct.
