📺🔬 I had the pleasure of sharing my predictions for the Nobel Prize in Physics and discussing today’s results on @TVP Nauka!
🏅 This year’s award captures the spirit and importance of fundamental research: driven by curiosity and the desire to understand nature.
🎓 Karol Kuryłek successfully defended his excellent MSc thesis on „Formation of ultracold radioactive molecules in isotope-exchange reactions”, supervised by Prof. @MichalTomza and Anton Hul. He will continue in our group as a PhD student.
👏 Congratulations, Karol!
On Friday, Prof. @MichalTomza gave a popular science lecture on "Precision at the Edge of Absolute Zero: In Search of New Laws of Physics" for PhD students participating in the Forge of Young Talent (pl: Kuźnia Młodych Talentów), organized by the Polish Young Academy @PAN_AMU
Jacek Gębala @Jac_Geb_3 successfully defended his excellent PhD thesis, “Three-body physics of ultracold gases: theory of weakly bound quantum states in strongly interacting systems,” supervised by @MichalTomza at @UniWarszawski and J. D’Incao at UMass Boston.
Congratulations!
New research article "Infrared absorption spectroscopy of a single polyatomic molecular ion" published in @Nature!

Compared with the analogous neutral system, three-body recombination is strongly suppressed, while the associated Efimov states can survive up to five orders of magnitude longer.
🎓 Marcin Welter successfully defended his excellent MSc thesis on „Reproducing Feshbach resonances between alkali-like molecule and atom”, supervised by Prof. @MichalTomza. He will continue in our group as a PhD student after the summer.
👏 Congratulations, Marcin!
🎓 Jan Okoński @jdokonski successfully defended his excellent BSc thesis on accurate calculations of neutral and ionic metal hydrides, supervised by Prof. @MichalTomza.
👏 Congratulations, Jan!
Our new research article on "Generalized Gross-Pitaevskii Equation for 2D Bosons with Attractive Interactions" was published in @PhysRevLett by our PhD student Michał Suchorowski @misuchorowski with Profs. H.-W. Hammer, A. G. Volosniev, and @MichalTomza:
