Shabana has made a serious mistake surrendering to Labour MPs. So I’m putting people on notice - when we get into government we will scrap this weak policy.
Immigration is too high. Labour are making a bad situation much, much worse.
The Conservative Party is under new management. I accept this problem started under a previous Conservative govt. Many of those in that Cabinet have gone to Reform where they belong.
And I’ve got a proper plan to fix it👇
The political bubble wrote us off.
The reality is when you have a Leader that talks and acts like a Conservative you begin winning again and @KemiBadenoch is the perfect example of this.
My fellow Leaders in London experienced the same in May. In Enfield, Croydon, K&C, Westminster, Wandsworth, Harrow, Hillingdon, Bexley and Bromley plus many major gains in most other Boroughs.
People wrote us all off and look at what happened. We won.

Does anyone in Government realise how damaging the weight of regulation is for our economy? I’m waiting for a certificate from our plumber, but he can’t provide it without going on a course & that means taking days off paid work, and paying for the course. Local young farmers 🧵

I only repost these polls because Reform seem to have spent the last two years making their entire political strategy about rubbing their polling leads in conservatives’ faces. You reap what you sow. And honestly, watching the tables turn is delicious

Andy Burnham is just as weak as Keir Starmer.
Pushed around by his left-wing open-borders MPs.
It doesn’t matter who the leader is, it’s still the same old Labour Party.

As part of #Knowyournumbersweek @emgpolitical and I took a few minutes to get our blood pressures checked. It’s quick, free and could make a difference to your health. Get checked at your local pharmacy, local GP practice or Pimlico Library #HealthyHearts

We visited the Food Bank at the Chapel in Buckingham Gate . @emgpolitical and I spoke to the manager Heather about how she is connecting residents to advice and support to increase household financial resilience and employability as well as giving food in crisis situations.

Sadiq Khan hails "the largest devolution of powers to London in a generation": a share of our income tax, business rates and tourist tax, worth around £10bn in borrowing. Yet Labour has almost halved Westminster's core funding. Where's our fair share? cityam.com/london-to-get-bak…

Labour’s patronising, out-of-touch, politics of envy on display here from Minister Emma Reynolds.
What about the thousands of small businesses who employ people?
The electrician who works but takes on apprentices?
The florist who runs her shop and has a young person work a few hours on weekends?
The list is endless and so is Labour’s vindictiveness and denial of reality.
Labour ministers simply don’t get it. They have little experience of private enterprise. It’s clear they don’t understand what it takes to run a business.
Across Queen’s Park and Maida Vale, employers face Labour’s higher National Insurance bills alongside rising costs. Every extra pound paid in tax is a pound less for investment, wages or hiring.
Businesses create jobs, not Cabinet ministers.

What an extraordinary statement. Apparently, according to Labour, employers aren't working people. Tell that to the small business owners working 60-hour weeks, risking their savings, paying their staff and keeping their businesses afloat. Labour can play with definitions and indulge in endless whataboutery, but it cannot escape the consequences of its decisions. Taxing employers affects jobs, wages and the very people Labour claims to protect.

Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade?
On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare.
There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain.
As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again.
This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

Great news from Barnet Council on the Conservative Group motion to twin with Haifa.

Then I visited St. Mary’s London Social Supermarket and the Pantry at the Abbey Centre.
