My autistic brain loves to plan out entire conversations before socialising. It can be tiring, but it comforts me. I like to prepare for every eventuality, so I map out every conversational path in mind, like I’m creating and repeatedly playing a “choose your own adventure” game.

I didn’t meet a black physician until I was in college, but now son gets to see one everyday. #Classof2023

One of my oldest comics is going around. A gentle attempt to poke fun at English common names.

ALT A chart titled "animals with misleading names". There are eight animals with labels. Electric eel: not an eel. Mountain goat: not a goat. Maned wolf: not a wolf. King cobra: Not a cobra. Also, snakes are typically self-governing. Peacock mantis shrimp: Not a peacock. Not a mantis. Also, not a shrimp. Horny toad: Not a toad. Only thinks of you as a friend. Mayfly: Active through the spring and summer. Eastern kingbird: Found in the West. Many birds do not recognize its authority.

Them: "You're a marine biologist?"
Me: "Correct"!
Them: "I always wanted to be a marine biologist! But then I learned they don't make any money."
Me: ".....also correct" 😑
Marine biologists everywhere, how often is this how people greet you? 😂 I'd say a solid 30% at least – at Pacifica, CA

A 390ft rocket (the height of a building ~40 stories) just did a series of summersaults through the air. I know it wasn't supposed to, but that was pretty wild to watch. #SpaceX #Starship #StarshipLaunch

I am in Target. I am trying to buy a photo album. I asked where they might be. Worker did not know what a photo album was. I said it was a place to keep pictures. He sent me to the tech aisle. He assumed I wanted memory to store more pictures on my phone. I am 1 billion years old

The translation doesn't do it justice.
如果有来生 (If there is a next life) 我还是会选择和你报税,开洗衣店 (I'd still choose to do taxes & run a laundry with you)
It's not a regretful supposition of what could've been, but a wistful invitation to spend the next life together

So many interesting things here: the reminder that plants and animals diverged at the very base of Eukarya. Seeing Eukarya surrounded by Archaeal relatives. There are so many cells we've sequenced but never seen (I'm assuming that's what the DNA strands mean).
