Don't worry @FutureBoy you're not the only one to read the "my companion" relationship that way!
Which makes the scenes where Marco admits he betrayed Guilliano under torture even more powerful...

The @PullToOpen63 randomiser clearly enjoyed @theDWshow July ep on Tomb of the Cybermen, taking the lads to Telos!
A good discussion. Especially interesting to hear @FutureBoy's take as a newbie to this classic.
As I said in July though, I just ENJOY this story! Banger!

When listening to @PullToOpen63's ep on Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror, I was as surprised as they were to remember that there was an alien monster in this ep!
Is this a key fault of the Whitaker era generally?
Some interesting thoughts!

Anjili Mohindra's performance in this one is great. #DoctorWho
Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror has the makings of a great historical: one of history’s weirdest geniuses, a superb Goran Višnjić performance, and bug-like alien baddies. But the sparks never quite make the jump.

I appreciate how diligent @PullToOpen63 were finding the good intentions behind Underworld.
BUT have to judge what's on screen & still my pick for worst classic story of DW! Chief Ogron ranking!
But yes, the Time Lord idea is interesting.
But WTF *are* the Seers meant to be?!

It's a true punch the air moment AND a sad shake of the head when my timeline is full of people saying some variation of, 'Wow, #MastersOfTheUniverse on Prime was so much fun!' You guys, you could have been watching it a month ago at the cinema. It was so good on the big screen.

One of the better Dr Who moments from the last few years. Craig Ferguson!

Thanks to a clever bit of writing after the fact over an open-ended final scene. Something that's not afforded this time around as the final ep, even knowing it was the final ep, went and did something blatantly stupid that it couldn't back up.

I'll have to give that a listen. Kinda's such an interesting example of a writer and script editor pulling in opposite directions - metaphysical vs action - nevertheless with an end result coming together really well. Peter Grimwade deserves a lot of credit.

It's still wonderful. They took a chance on a really way out story, and it paid off- even got a sequel. And, indeed, the Ep.2 cliffhanger is a doozy- even if it just Nerys Hughes screaming at a box! Shouldn't work, but the build up is great.

It's classic McCoy - some great ideas and guest actors, but far, far too much plot and too many characters. The first episode takes forever before the Doctor and Ace reach the circus. The Doctor walking away unflinching when the tent blows up is fantastic, though.

Was super psyched to go back to this favorite of mine as a kid. Still holds up!
Season 7 of Pull To Open begins where all great potholing expeditions do: deep underground. It's The Silurians, the only story bold enough to put “Doctor Who” in the title and end in the darkest way possible.

@PullToOpen63 Looking forward to your episode on The Highlanders. Fun fact: the Jamie McCrimmon character is what sparked Gabaldon’s inspiration for the Outlander book series! I’m hoping for a Doctor Who/Outlander crossover one day 😂

This is the First regeneration to happen in a regular series/season of Doctor Who since 2005, the rest were christened Christmas specials and other specials

Sure you're not listening to our episode? We said all the same things! I kid. Feels good after a hot take recorded in isolation to hear that other people came to exactly the same conclusions about certain bits.

Sunday morning walk with the show. @petepachal hits a number of areas I either spoke about on our episode or thought about at least. And yeah, the whole Fugitive Doctor thing. We literally shoehorned in a brief mention and didn’t delve into how Ncuti has memories of that era?!?
Our HOT TAKE on The Story & the Engine is up!
The Doctor finds himself in Nigeria… on a spaceship… on a spider… in the realm of living stories. With us so far? Good—because the story’s just getting started.
