The IIT Bombay case raises a deeper question: Are we teaching students to value learning and integrity, or merely to pass exams at any cost? Cheating is wrong, but so is using allegations of harassment or caste discrimination to deflect accountability. Could intense competition for too few opportunities be driving this behavior?

At his press conference today, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro accused me of promoting conspiracy theories because I told him, during an earlier telephone conversation, that some Americans had religious objections to the MMR vaccine because it contained fetal tissue. “There is no fetal tissue in the MMR,” he told me.
This is a segment from a videotaped deposition of Stanley Plotkin, the inventor of the MMR vaccine. Plotkin admits to butchering 76 aborted normally developing fetuses, all over three months old, in just one of the many studies that led to the development of his vaccine.
The rubella virus used in MMR-II is grown on the cultured cell line composed of lung tissue from an aborted three-month-old female embryo and listed as “WI-38 human diploid lung fibroblasts” in the ingredients of MMR-II as portions of these cells end up in each vial of MMR II.
During Dr. Plotkin’s deposition, Attorney Aaron Siri asked: “Isn’t it true that MMR II contains approximately 150 nanograms cells substrate double-strand DNA and single-strand DNA per dose purposefully fragmented to approximately 215 base pairs in length?” Dr. Plotkin answered: “Yeah, that’s probably correct, yes.”
This equals approximately 646 billion pieces of human DNA from an aborted fetal cell line in each vial of MMR-II.
In addition to the human DNA, there is also an unspecified amount of human cellular debris in each dose of MMR-II.
During our phone conversation, Governor Shapiro also accused me of promoting vaccine misinformation. When I asked him for an example, he was unable to provide one, but this did not deter him from publicly repeating that accusation during his press event. As I told him, HHS does not tolerate misinformation by any employee. I offered to point to hundreds of instances of vaccine misinformation by the Biden administration about which I had never heard him complain.
Governor Shapiro also faulted me for the decline in Pennsylvania vaccination rates from 97% - 93.2%. When I pushed back on this assertion, he acknowledged that most of the decline occurred during the Biden administration. It’s unfortunately true that the government lockdowns, deceptions, manipulation, and overreach during Covid severely damaged public faith in the vaccine program.
Governor Shapiro’s press conference was an example of the same species of gaslighting.
The Trump administration is working to restore public trust not by gaslighting or manipulating, but by being truthful, at last, with the public.

I fully believe that tattoos are strictly for members of the dark underworld.
If you're a criminal, sailor, soldier, vagabond, addict, convict, etc -- OK, you deserve it.
If you're not any of those and have tattoos, sorry -- you're a poseur.
Replying to @berrysweetmum
My husband says tattoos are earned (by sailors, gang members, convicts, etc). It feels like culture appropriation for others to get them, esp normal white woman. They also don't age well... I know this girl who looks like diarrhea exploded down her leg every time I see her lol
I am sick of these Alfalfa Centers using up our water!
Graphic showing how the Colorado River's water is used.
More water goes to alfalfa than ALL household + non-ag industrial use combined. Is this the correct regional priority?
Long term answer IMO: make water abundant (energy + the ocean)

Central Division POP Deputies spotted 35-year-old Joshua Thatch leaving a McDonald’s on Florin Road in a vehicle that had been reported stolen. Deputies confirmed the vehicle matched the stolen vehicle alert and followed Thatch while additional units responded.
Thatch was already on probation for multiple vehicle theft and stolen vehicle-related convictions, as well as grand theft.
Where was he headed? To the probation office to check in with his probation officer... in a stolen car.
Deputies took Thatch into custody in the parking lot of the probation office, and he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
His booking photo cannot be released due to California state law.
Our probation officers do a tremendous job, but are overwhelmed with an abundance of “clients” while being greatly understaffed. We value their partnership in keeping Sacramento County safe.

The Muslim mayor of New York is calling Islam a mental illness and you’re blackpilling?
I have been briefed on today’s horrifying stabbings on the Upper West Side, where an Asian man and a Jewish man were attacked. According to witness and victim statements, the perpetrator yelled “Allahu Akbar” during both attacks. I am relieved that both victims are in stable condition.
The NYPD responded immediately and arrested Raul Morales in connection with both assaults—and I am grateful to the officers for their swift response.
The NYPD’s initial investigation suggests that mental health may have been a factor. They are also evaluating these stabbings as potential hate crimes.
These hateful and despicable attacks have no place in our city.

California law requires juveniles convicted of even the most serious crimes, including murder, to serve their sentences in county juvenile halls, with release required on or before their 26th birthday. Many juveniles convicted of murder serve only 2-3 years before being released.
Gary Grover was convicted as a juvenile of murder and attempted murder. Since his release, our Gang Suppression Unit has arrested him 3 times for illegal firearm possession. He led Deputies in a vehicle pursuit, crashed into innocent motorists, failed to appear in court 4 times, accumulated multiple felony no bail warrants, and once again required a foot pursuit before being taken back into custody.
“Reforms” to California’s juvenile justice laws have gone too far. Enough is enough.

A lot of folks have asked why I jumped into the #SaveStargate campaign.
Truth is, this was never about how many episodes I appeared in.
It was about supporting friends, standing behind a cast and crew I respect and recognizing one of the most passionate fan communities out there. The Stargate universe has meant a great deal to a lot of people for a very long time.
When people care that deeply about something and work that hard to keep it alive, I’m happy to lend my voice.
Some things are worth getting loud about.
