Know about bees but want to learn about pesticides (or know someone who does)? Check out our introduction to bee and pesticide research just published in @JAppliedEcology! Led by @EdStrawBio during @ProtectsProject @ucdagfood @UCDEarth
ATTENTION ECOTOX PEOPLE: We wrote a primer on bee and pesticide science! Specifically written to be an accessible short guide for post / undergrads. It explains all the basic lingo and concepts in simple language. @DaraStanley

Pesticides are now everywhere and they don't seem to be going anywhere any time soon. I spoke to @theapplefarmer and @DaraStanley of the @ProtectsProject for this piece and some ways to reduce risk from these chemicals.

Interesting thread describing recent research on pesticide use in Ireland and threats to bees.
Pesticide residues are found in nectar and soils. But are there implications for bees, and what can we do to help? Read on to find out more from the PROTECTS project in Ireland! protects.ucd.ie/ vimeo.com/788284760/97ec9d87… 1/16

Very proud to see the pioneering, transdisciplinary efforts of @poshbee_eu recognised in @Nature paper published today! This new research led by @JessicaKnapp, @BuzzNicholson @MajRundlof shows that common farmland pesticides significantly harm one of our important pollinators.1/8

🐝🐝New Paper!! 🐝🐝
Do measures to reduce pesticide impacts on bees actually work?
Answer: We have no idea!
Farmers are told to do lots of things to make pesticide applications safer for bees. We looked at if they were supported by scientific evidence.
