Our heartfelt condolences to the Veregge family right now. @JeffreyVeregge passed away earlier this month after several years battling lupus.
Jeffrey was a joy to collaborate with on the artwork of Promised Land, and he was an important voice in indigenous comics.
We loved watching his career unfold and watching well-deserved victories like working at Marvel, IDW, BOOM!, Variant, and Darkhorse Comics, as well as exhibiting at the Smithsonian and creating amazing murals for landmarks like Climate Pledge Arena.
If you’re interested in supporting his family right now, the GoFundMe is still active. Jeffrey was in the hospital since June 2021 and his wife Christina tirelessly worked to advocate for him. Our love is with them right now: gofundme.com/f/help-jeffrey-…

URGENT ACTION NEEDED!
Other tribes are stopping a hearing that would return a section of our #LANDBACK.
Tag @WAHouseDems @WaHouseGOP @VoteRamos @MiaGregerson33 & demand that HB1496 has a public hearing!
No tribes from outside our area should have a voice over Chinook lands.

Indigenous people make up 17% of missing people in Washington but are only 1.6% of the population. WA took an important step in implementing an alert system for #MMIW but we have more to do. We can all help raise awareness about this violence by wearing red today. #whywewearred

Normalize booking Native folks for your Native American Heritage Month events 6 months to a year out AND normalize having Native folks come to speak/perform/whatever YEAR ROUND and not just October-November. Geez. This shouldn't have to be said EVERY year.
