Watering the lawn can use as much water in an hour as one person uses in a week! When it's hot weather you can save water by not watering your grass. Don't worry as it'll recover soon after it rains.

A exceptional article. It is rare to read something in a paper that is your area of expertise and find it has nailed it.

Spotted these at the @ECCA2023 conference in Dublin. They're from the UK's DRY (Drought Risk and You) initiative but very applicable to Ireland - except perhaps the 'bath with a friend' advice - can't imagine Liam Cosgrave sanctioning that message in '76 @UWEBristol @NERCscience

This is an SSSI, a SAC and an SPA site. A recent burn has left it with 1000s of cremated Anthills and breeding birds bereft of any habitat to nest in. I know burning has a role to play in habitat management, but during a draught and the #climatecrisis? Devastating to see.
