@ZooSchoolMNPS had 42 students show up at our 1st @ProjectLITComm book meeting of the year! Thank you, @JerryCraft, for such a great book!
Beautiful! Happy reading! 📚💙
Bulletin boards outside the Media Center were recently updated to include the 24-25 middle grade @ProjectLITComm titles, a variety of #NovelsInVerse in honor of #HouseArrest, & #TopReaders from our #Beanstack Read-A-Thon! @DutchmanCreekMS @karianneholt @zoobeanreads #JustReadIt

Is it petty of me to keep repeating that this beautiful movie by @Dreamworks is based on my book? The team of artists + animators + designers did an outstanding job + I want people to know that my book was the inspiration! Is that wrong? This is all new for me! #thewildrobot

Tim Walz said it best: Censorship has no place in our libraries. The Hate U Give has been banned in numerous libraries—but that won’t stop me from sharing our truth. Our stories are meant to be heard. We will not be silenced.

One of my favorite moments from this year.
We’ve ensured no child goes hungry at school, supported our food banks, and invested in prepared meals for Minnesotans who need an extra hand.
In Minnesota, we’re not banning books – we’re banishing hunger.

The Fourth of July is about celebrating the big, bold, inclusive experiment that is our American democracy. And it has always been an experiment. Our democracy has never been guaranteed, which means we can’t take it for granted. We need to keep fighting for it, keep improving it, and keep making sure it reflects the better angels of our nature instead of the worst. That, more than anything, is what America is all about.

I’m still pinching myself—Out of My Mind has been made into a movie! 🎬✨ I can’t wait for you all to see it. As soon as I know the release date, I’ll let you know. Fingers crossed for sometime in the fall!

In my hometown of Sacramento, California, June 11th (today) is known as LeVar Burton Day! In honor of this special occasion, I'm reading aloud his profound, inspiring & sweet picture book "A KIDS BOOK ABOUT IMAGINATION!" @levarburton is a true literacy hero, his work on @readingrainbow continues to inspire millions of children around the world to dive into stories! And after recently watching the Reading Rainbow documentary, "Butterfly in the Sky," I gained an even greater sense of respect and love for all the kindness & book joy LeVar has spread & continues to share all across the globe! Happy LeVar Burton Day!
