Twelve million Americans are misdiagnosed every year. With technology as the muscle of our business and leaders like Anant Gupta, we’re helping to improve that. #HealthTech

We cannot leave large concepts like *the truth* to companies whose only goal is to monetize everything on their platform because, to them, truth is just a speed bump on the way to a higher stock price.

We are leaving the fate of our democracy in the hands of a company with massive worldwide reach whose only goal is higher ad rates with absolutely no regulation whatsoever. These are the same decisions that caused a real life genocide in Myanmar. nytimes.com/2018/10/15/techn…

Take the politics of the moment out of this and think about this: @facebook has decided that any ads, regardless of whether they’re true or not, can run on their platform with no fact-checking. This is incredibly dangerous and members of both parties should be worried about it.

They’re allowing Trump to spend over $1 million a week right now for ads on their platform—including ones that air the same lies that TV stations won’t. Here’s an example of an ad that Facebook let Trump run despite being obviously untrue: popular.info/p/facebook-allo…

But also and more importantly I talked with @jgulden about politics, change, and finding meaningful work this morning. Solidarity is all about mutual support, and before strikes and leverage it starts with calls and long talks. 💛 – at Pacific Heights, San Francisco

The Kickstarter Union has the potential to be a roadmap for tech worker organizing industry-wide. We shouldn’t be helpless. And Kickstarter, as a PUBLIC BENEFIT CORP, should encourage the move. – at Lower Pacific Heights, San Francisco

Join us in urging leadership to recognize our union! Email, tweet, and post everywhere to express support for KSRU. Activate whatever channels you can to share our message of solidarity: Kickstarter is ready to be united, and senior leadership must grant us voluntary recognition.

The market is helping where it can (@remix, @mission_lane, etc.), and we talk about these companies a lot at @ProjMobilize, but we need comprehensive political strategies for narrowing the gap if we want to create a society in which more than just a few people can thrive.

In addition to the fact that, well, we often just don’t show up to vote, the people who are elected do so behind closed doors, and often represent a racially-gerrymandered minority.
