For the AdTech folks: Time to update your priors. You're underestimating StackAdapt. And generally, the world order is changing pretty rapidly.

Why did the Bank of England think it could create £450 billion of money since 2020 and buy very expensive bonds without triggering rapid inflation? Why did it not think about the big losses it would incur when getting rid of the bonds later?

@geofftech forgive the hideously drawn map but I think I've got a journey for you that would quite an exciting round trip. With the addition of the Elizabeth line it's now possible to do a loop in London where you use every line for just one stop. Most lines in fewest stops!

All the PM needs to say is – we spent £500 billion of real money trying to stop an unstoppable virus. That’s why the country is at the edge of bankruptcy. Anyone who was in favour of the lockdowns and other restrictions can’t much complain now about the current situation.
"Austerity... just seems to go on and on under recent Conservative governments." @GaryGibbonC4 challenges prime minister Rishi Sunak over the prospect of more public spending cuts. But the PM says "it's wrong to say that we are not making investments" in public services.

Really struggling to see how Twitter is suddenly much less brand safe than FB or YouTube. What we're seeing from some advertisers and agencies is brand safety as a performative act, rather than a proper effort to halt the flow of dollars from brands to bad actors.

PM Liz Truss has rolled out one of Briton’s largest gov't programs ever. She will freeze gas & electric rates for 2 yrs at a massive, yet unknown, cost. Truss’ radical interventionist move was made without any analysis or understanding of the consequences. nytimes.com/2022/09/08/world…

I guarantee that scotch eggs were mentioned more times than cancer at those dreadful Govt press conferences. And here we are now - a cancer crisis unlike anything we've ever seen. A complete and utter disaster. My piece on this damning pandemic legacy. telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/08…

As the weather is so hot I asked the Hermes delivery driver if he'd like a bottle of cold water. When he said yes I dropkicked it over a fence into my neighbour's rose bush and told him I'd left it in a designated safe space.

Boris Johnson thought it was right to have a party to thank people who were leaving their job, whilst at the same time telling you your relatives had to die alone in hospital. If that doesn’t wake you up nothing will 🤷🏼‍♂️ #questioneverything

Man, I don’t think this is such a great idea. I’ve seen what McKinsey + Co and BCG are capable of destroying, and brutha, it’s A LOT. If anything, we should be putting them all to work over there.
