How is the federal government meant to change course on delayed screenings for preventable deaths such as cancer and other age-related comobidities when people such as Shane were pushing for Zero Covid and longer lockdowns over the past 3 years? Quite odd
Our Federal Government can still change course....sometimes correcting errors is actually okay!

COVID deaths in Japan have broken previous records, and they once again reported a new single day high recently, despite high vaccination & booster rates and nearly three years of consistent universal masking How much longer will "experts" pretend these measures can stop surges?

With universal masking, remarkable compliance and over 82% of the population fully vaccinated, Japan has now set a new record for highest death rate of the pandemic Every single time "experts" claim we can control COVID with masks and other interventions, they're proven wrong

Some people on Twitter are demanding mask mandates. But the EVIDENCE that masks work is very weak. In contrast, the evidence that vaccines work is very strong. That’s why the CMO and state CHOs emphasise vaccines, not masks. It’s called evidence-based medicine.

Weekly update from Denmark. Despite what some Twitter Covid influencers will tell you, we have done great without masks. Society has been fully open since February this year. Still no wave.

Well worth a read of this by @BenMazer on school masking and the Boston masking study In particular because aside from the methodological issues, it addresses the astonishing blunder into masks as “health equity”, and against “capitalism” open.substack.com/pub/mazer/…

COVID continues to disproportionately impact the elderly, with the greatest risk of hospitalization & death rising at ~60 yrs & jumping significantly at 80 yrs. Terrible. This population is under-vaccinated & targeted vaccine outreach would help.

In 2021, Twitter promoted "expert" Eric Feigl-Ding said that Hong Kong's masking achieved "Zero COVID" & "defeated" the virus Except now the death rate in Hong Kong is higher than Finland, Norway & Denmark, all countries that had comparatively little mask usage Nailed it again

EFD, serious person: UK "could see as many as 60,000" monkeypox cases *per day* by 2022 end. UK's current 7-day average as of yesterday: 0.43 (that's 3 cases total in the past week).

So I guess the promised study evaluating the benefit of HEPA filters in Victorian schools will never see the light of day? So much money spent achieving nothing which could have been better spent on actual education.

According to the WHO, Collignon said there is no evidence strains like BQ1 or BA5 are causing more severe disease or hospitalisation, or escaping from the vaccines already out there, so panic is unwarranted. This applies to BQ1 (from omicron BA5) 9now.nine.com.au/today/covid…
