Workers aren’t “quiet-quitting” to avoid burnout. They’re refusing to have their labor stolen without compensation. Idk why there are so many bad articles about this

With less than a month until school starts, Columbus City Schools has left the bargaining table. It seems likely that teachers will strike. More than two years into a pandemic and teachers are still fighting to get kids what they deserve. Here's some of what @ColumbusEA wants –

ADHD is thinking about all the things you have to do, getting stressed about all the things, worrying about the consequences of not doing the things, but still feeling stuck and unable to do any of the things.

1/4 Curriculum is like jarred spaghetti sauce.
Some people use it straight from the jar even though they know it's too salty.
Some add ingredients to improve it bc they know how to cook, but don't have time to start from scratch.

2% and 3% are both small numbers and large numbers at the same time.
They’re small relative to the 80-90% of the population who had had Covid by that point, suggesting around 1-in-25 of those has long Covid today, and for 1-in-40 it is limiting their daily activities...

Just because a student does not raise their hand, does not mean that they are not thinking deeply about the content. We need to broaden what we mean by engagement in our classrooms/schools. This will invite/value more students in the learning process.

Every single school should be working to figure out how to double plan time for teachers.
The US requires more instructional minutes from teachers than almost any other country in the world (Argentina and Chile are the only two higher than us).

As an autistic advocate it’s especially frustrating when people who’s literal job it is to work with autistic people don’t appear to understand the basics. So here is a thread with some of them.
