Installed PrivacyNotes on your Mac from the App Store? That was the iPad build, so it renders at iPad size. We have switched that off. The real Mac app: privacynotes.app/en#download… Same recovery phrase, same notes. Pro carries over.

The Mac build is native: it self-updates, it opens a folder of .md files from disk and edits them in place, and you can make it your default Markdown editor. macOS 13+.

Recently came across this new open source encrypted notes app. It's a little different from your regular notes app, though. It has file templates for password storage, credit card info storage, ssh key storage along with regular notes and bookmarks. Feels like it is intended for storing more of your critical information than any notes. So those account recovery codes, ssh keys etc can be saved with zero knowledge encryption.
