I want to be very clear: Lovett supported a literal Nazi in Maine and should not be trusted on Jewish issues. Jews, you owe your vote to no one. Candidates must earn your vote. You alone decide if El Sayed has.
Lovett: I just want to be very clear: Jews in Michigan have a moral obligation to support Abdul. They should do it to protect themselves from antisemitism and rising hatred in America.

Why does Abdul El Sayed keep having to distance himself from horrible antisemitic men? At some point you ARE the company you keep.
Replying to @GrantGHurst
He didn't release this ad, it was Cenk Uygur who hastily edited his own ad from his own failed presidential run to be about AES. But yes, this does make AES look like an antisemitic weirdo and less likely to win a general election. A bad thing for Uygur to put on him, I'd say.

Jewish Michiganders aren’t going to listen to Lovett, who went to war for a guy with a Nazi tattoo. They don’t have an obligation to support El-Sayed, who defended a terrorist attack against a synagogue. El-Sayed has repeatedly proved he doesn’t care about antisemitism.

For all the people defending El-Sayed over this vile anti-Semitic ad by arguing his campaign didn't run it, remember he said the same thing during his primary campaign against Haley Stevens.

Hi @jonlovett — you’re the genius who supported the scumbag with the nazi tattoo, correct? Do us all a favor and STFU.

I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people. Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent! But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest. You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful. Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway. This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

And are there more moderate Dems in suburbs, especially among the ~100k Jewish voters, who will defect from el-Sayed? The key place to watch is Oakland County, second largest in the state, which Slotkin won by 12 over Rogers in '24. An el-Sayed underperformance there wipes out the gains in those Wayne cities.

Haley Stevens tells CNN she encouraged Abdul El-Sayed to give a speech addressing Black voters’ concerns, and “that didn’t happen.” “I told the campaign, ‘Give a speech in the Black community. Make it a note of recognition for some of the pain, some of the struggles people are going through.’ ... That speech didn’t happen.”

For the record, in case anyone doubts, here's a repost of this same ad from February 2024, explaining that it's a Cenk Uygur for President ad. Listen to the jubilant Brazilians telling us how to win elections against fascists: ignore the bad actors. 5/ xitter.cf/yashar/status/17583327…
New Cenk Uygur ad features a couple in the grocery store bemoaning the fact that they can’t afford eggs because the US government needs to the money to “kill Palestinians.”

The ad is antisemitic. Dangerously so. There's really not much to argue about there. But even if there *were* some ambiguity: why do you want people arguing over whether a pro-El-Sayed ad is antisemitic a week before the midterms? Is this an in-kind donation to Rogers?
If you think this ad is antisemitic, you’re in a cult and don’t know it. You think Israel is owed all the money it wants from US and if Americans don’t hand it over - without complaint - they’re antisemites. That’s insane, but you don’t realize it because you’ve lost your mind.

This type of fearmongering about Israel is wrong. It is not a winning strategy for any state. It does nothing to help Michigan Democrats win up and down the ballot in eight days. Do we need to lower costs by building more homes, securing people’s health care, and creating a fairer federal tax code? Yes, we do!! How we do so is not by blaming the high costs of our goods on the only Jewish homeland in the world. I want to see Democrats succeed at every level, and that means keeping our focus on lowering costs for Michigan families and reining in this out-of-control President.
New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.

Tweet like a leftist from October 2024: I don’t want Abdul to win, I don’t want Mike Rogers to win either. Both are awful. Why can’t the parties give us better options??

You need a better explanation than playing your tired old "Islamaphobic" card for every objection to this candidate. Being Muslim doesn't earn El-Sayed extra scrutiny, and it doesn't exempt him from scrutiny either. El-Sayed is the only person standing in El-Sayed’s way. His defenders should stop blaming voters for noticing. And for all the talk of his supposed talent as a communicator, he keeps struggling with the basics: clear answers, sound judgment, and knowing when his own words are the problem. André Carson is a Muslim Democrat who has represented Indiana in Congress since 2008 and sat on the House Intelligence Committee. Mehmet Oz is a Muslim Republican who won Pennsylvania's Senate nomination and now runs the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Neither has faced the types of questions, scrutiny, and skepticism that Abdul El-Sayed is facing. That's because the questions and concerns aren't about El-Sayed's faith. They're about his own words .... words that HE chooses and that offend voters and core Democratic constituencies on a daily basis: constantly defending Hasan Piker and his platform of antisemitic hate and bigotry, calling Israel "blood thirsty " or a "rogue state," hedging on its right to exist as a Jewish state, dodging on the Ayatollah's death, an equivocal response to a terrorist attack on a synagogue in his own state by excusing the terrorist's attempt to murder children, or lying to NBC news about his family's ties to the MB only for unearthed tweets from HIS OWN FAMILY contradict him. ANY Senate candidate who said those things would be pressed.
Islamophobia might doom him in Michigan.

This is absolutely hilarious. AirBNB hosts are worried about pressures from competition from hotels. You know why you can't compete with hotels? Because hotels don't give you a ten page list of chores and rules when you book.

This is a really bad, stupid, dangerous, and just plain political thing to say. When our Founders promised us free speech, we didn’t have smart phones, the internet, or even Twitter. So… I can’t exercise my First Amendment rights via a Tweet?
Abdul El-Sayed on the Second Amendment: "When they promised the right to bear arms, they had muskets. So, yeah, everyone should have equal rights to a musket."

People are mad because Black and Jewish voters are not voting for Abdul El-Sayed. Black voters let everyone know how they felt about Abdul upfront and said plainly it was Haley Stevens that they knew and who’s in their communities when it isn’t election time. An Islamist extremist terrorist that was born in Lebanon, lived in Dearborn, and naturalized as a United States citizen tried to kill as many Jewish people including 140 Jewish children as possible in a synagogue on March 12, 2026 in Michigan. Abdul El-Sayed’s initial response was “hurt people hurt people.” So it’s LIES that the Jewish community isn’t voting for him because of “Israel.” It’s because he’s a heartless mfer that sides with and make excuses for jihadist terrorists. They can’t feel safe and represented with him as their Senator.
