We spend a lot of time measuring ourselves by what we accomplish. The title. The promotion. The recognition. The next big goal. And achievement is wonderful. I’m still ambitious. I still want to grow, contribute, and do work that matters. But the older I get, the more I think there’s another measure that matters just as much: Were you kind? Did you make people feel valued? Did you help when you could? Did people leave an interaction with you feeling a little better than when they arrived? You can spend a lifetime trying to be extraordinary. There’s something pretty extraordinary about simply being a good human. 🤍

Sometimes it’s a text that starts with “just curious…” Or a reply-all email that suddenly goes off the rails. You don’t have to respond to every bit of nonsense that lands in your inbox. Not every hill is worth dying on, not every conversation deserves a comeback, and not every person is ready to hear your well-crafted paragraph anyway. Stay calm. Stay classy. Stay busy building things that matter.🤍
