A valuable experience and a great opportunity to exchange ideas and perspectives on the future of Arab media, in particular at a time when voices from our region deserve to be heard more than ever. The media remains one of the main battlegrounds to reclaim justice, equality and accountability. تشرفت بحضور ملتقى مستقبل الإعلام والاتصال بنسخته الرابعة في عمّان، الذي جمع نخبة من وزراء الإعلام وقادة المؤسسات الإعلامية والخبراء وصنّاع المحتوى، ضمن جلسات وحوارات ثرية ناقشت مستقبل الإعلام وتحدياته في ظل التحول الرقمي والذكاء الاصطناعي. تجربة مميزة وفرصة قيّمة لتبادل الأفكار والرؤى حول مستقبل الإعلام العربي، لا سيما في وقت بات فيه إيصال أصوات شعوبنا العربية إلى العالم أكثر أهمية من أي وقت مضى. ويبقى الإعلام من أهم المنابر للدفاع عن العدالة والمساواة والمطالبة بالمساءلة.

Twenty three years after the killing of Anna Lindh, who was a beacon of hope in European international affairs, our Euro Mediterranean has been upset by violent, radical and dangerous changes. Yet the values of justice and equality and respect for the other, in which Anna Lindh believed, remain at the core of what we at the Foundation that carries her name, do. سعيدة وفخورة بما حققه فريق فيلم “الاحتلال والحال” من إنجاز مميز، بحصده خمس جوائز ضمن برنامج Final Cut in Venice. كنت قد سعدت بزيارة موقع تصوير الفيلم خلال مرحلة الإنتاج، حيث اطلعت عن قرب على الجهد والشغف اللذين رافقا صناعة هذا العمل. يحمل الفيلم قصة مهمة كان لا بد من تسليط الضوء عليها، وهي قصة تستحق أن تصل إلى جمهور واسع وأن تحظى بما تستحقه من اهتمام وتقدير، لا سيما أنها اليوم أكثر ارتباطًا بواقع منطقتنا من أي وقت مضى. واليوم، يسعدني أن أرى هذا الفيلم الأردني يخطو خطوة مهمة على الساحة السينمائية الدولية. أبارك لباسل ورولا وهيام، ولطاقم التمثيل المبدع ولكل فريق العمل، هذا الإنجاز المستحق، وأتمنى للفيلم رحلة موفقة ومزيدًا من النجاحات في المحطات القادمة. Happy and proud of the remarkable achievement of the team behind “Occupational Hazards,” winning five awards at Final Cut in Venice. I had the pleasure of visiting the film’s set during production, where I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the dedication and passion behind the making of this film. It is an important story that needed to be brought forward and should be seen and acknowledged widely, especially as it is more relevant today than ever in our region’s history. So I could not be more glad to see this Jordanian production take an important step on the international film scene. Congratulations to Bassel, Rula, Hiam and all the brilliant cast, and the entire team on this well-deserved achievement. I wish the film continued success on the journey ahead.

بين الذاكرة والنجاة… تبقى الحكايات حيّة. ضمن فعاليات مهرجان عمّان السينمائي الدولي – أول فيلم في دورته السابعة، يقدّم الفيلم الوثائقي «من لا يزال حيًّا» والمعرض البصري «لسّا عايشين» تجربةً إنسانية مؤثرة تستحضر غزة عبر ذاكرة أهلها، وتمنح حكاياتهم وأصواتهم مساحةً للبقاء. على خريطة مرسومة لغزة بمدنها ومخيّماتها وأحيائها، يروي تسعة لاجئين فرّوا من الجحيم حكاياتهم، مستعيدين الأماكن والذكريات التي أُجبروا على تركها خلفهم. حين تلتقي السينما بالفن البصري، تصبح الذاكرة أكثر حضورًا، ويغدو الفن مساحةً لحفظ الرواية، وصون الكرامة الإنسانية، والتأكيد على أن حكايات غزة لا ينبغي أن تُنسى. As part of the seventh edition of the Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film, the documentary “Who Is Still Alive” and the visual exhibition “Still Alive” offer a deeply moving human experience that brings Gaza back through the memories of its people, giving their stories and voices the space to endure. Against a hand-drawn map of Gaza, its towns, camps, and neighbourhoods, nine refugees who escaped the inferno share their stories, recalling the places and memories they were forced to leave behind. Where cinema meets visual art, memory becomes more present, and art becomes a space to preserve stories, uphold human dignity, and affirm that the stories of Gaza must never be forgotten.
