Here, in full directly on Twitter, is "A Hackers' Guide to Language Models". This 90 minute tutorial is designed to be the one place I point coders at when they ask "hey, tell me everything I need to know about LLMs!" It covers both @OpenAI models and open source ones in depth.

In 'Interstellar' (2014) the black hole was so scientifically accurate it took approx 100 hours to render each frame in the physics and VFX engine. Meaning every second onscreen took approx 100 days to render the final copy

Listen to this AI generated song featuring Drake & The Weeknd. It goes so damn hard. It's by "Ghostwriter977" on TikTok and it's blowing up on socials + streaming platforms. UMG, which controls around 1/3 of the global music market, has already asked streaming platforms to ban AI. A modern Napster moment. Will be fascinating to watch this all unfold in real-time.

I spent 3 hours yesterday with my solar telescope pointed at a tall tornado-y looking thing on the sun. This 14-Earths-tall swirling column of plasma was raining moon-sized gobs of incandescent material on the sun. I can't imagine a more hellish place.

A thread 🧵 explaining why the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) collapsed in simple terms. It was caused by a combination aggressive interest hikes by the Federal Reserve AND SVB's really bad investments & poor risk management! #SVBCollapse #SVB $SIVB #SBVcrash

Rock. Rock. Rock. Rock. Rock. Rock. METEORITE! It's not uncommon to find meteorites on Mars - in fact, I've done it a few times! (see 🧵) But a change in scenery's always nice. This one's about a foot wide and made of iron-nickel. We're calling it "Cacao."
This composite image shows Curiosity's view of its Martian workspace. A large rock is centered between shadows the rover cast onto the surface. Curiosity's "head" is to the right of the rock, and its arm is to the left. The rock itself is roughly a foot in diameter and mostly round, with divots across its rough surface. It is gray/silver. Mars dirt has settled on portions of it. In the rest of the image, the light red Martian surface is sprinkled with smaller rocks and pebbles.
