How Encroachment threatens Aravalis near Gurgaon’s Biodiversity Park
Roads, houses, workshops and construction waste have spread across land near the Aravali Biodiversity Park, with residents estimating that 12 to 15 acres have been encroached upon.
Nearly seven years after boundary wall work was planned, the forest area remains vulnerable to further encroachment. Drone footage shows just how vulnerable the this green lung continues to be.

The right to protest, however fundamental, cannot become a licence to exert political pressure upon constitutional institutions. The Supreme Court’s independence, dignity and institutional credibility are foundational to our democracy.
Constitutional rights must be exercised within the constitutional framework, not in derogation of it.
You can challenge the Govt. but not India & its institutions
#WATCH | Delhi: Advocate, Supreme Court, Pratik Som says, "Our message is very clear. Our foremost allegiance is towards the Constitution of India and the national interest. The Supreme Court, the Office of the Chief Justice of India, the Election Commission, and even Parliament. These are constitutional institutions that form the very foundation of our democracy. The right to protest is a fundamental right, but it can never become a license to intimidate the constitutional authorities, disregard the rule of law, and the institutional credibility that has been a part of our democracy since we got independence.
It is the collective voice of a few people who belong to a certain institution. That message is very clear that the , the constitutional institutions that form the very foundation of our democracy cannot be intimidated or disregarded in the name of protest... The Supreme Court is being bombarded by a physical appearance of petitioners. Sub judice matters which are yet to be decided by the Supreme Court are constitutional, clearly distinct on the point that the administrative side adjudication and the judicial side adjudication are two different things. When the matters are sub judice, then in the form of protest, you cannot ask for in-person hearings by the very same court or the judges who are going to decide on the matter. The institutions that are constitutional in nature, let them operate through a constitutional framework and mechanism as described in our Constitution."

Delhi: On the open letter by Harvard alumni expressing deep concern over attacks on India's constitutional institutions, including the Election Commission and the Supreme Court, Prateek Som, a 2024 Harvard Kennedy School alumnus, says, "It is a collective statement by individuals belonging to an institution, not an institutional statement. It is a clear call for primary allegiance to the Constitution of India and the national interest. The Supreme Court, the Office of the Chief Justice of India, the Election Commission and Parliament are constitutional institutions that form the very foundation of our democracy. The right to protest is fundamental, and we understand that. However, it cannot be a licence to undermine or intimidate constitutional authorities or disregard the rule of law. Political differences or protests against the establishment or the government are understandable..."
Your timeline, littered with abuse and vulgarity, speaks volumes about your own upbringing.
The irony of you lecturing others on their parents is truly remarkable. Get well soon!
#WATCH | Delhi: Rajat Sethi, Executive Committee Member of the Harvard Club of India (the official alumni group of Harvard University), says, "As a member of the elected body of the Executive Council of the Harvard Club of India, which is the official alumni group of Harvard University alumni in India, I wanted to issue a clarification that certain individuals have gone ahead and issued a letter remarking on and making comments about the recent protest and the detention that followed. I wanted to issue a clarification that this is not the official position of the Harvard Club of India. Also, the charter and the mandate of the Harvard Club of India prohibit issuing any political statement on either its behalf or on behalf of Harvard University. Therefore, this clarification is to explain to the larger audience that certain individuals who happen to be alumni of Harvard University have issued the statement in their personal capacity. While we respect personal expression, that is not a substitute for institutional representation."
Clarification | Harvard Club of India
The Harvard Club of India, a recognised alumni association representing over 600 Harvard alumni, has issued no official statement on this matter.
Any statement by individuals identifying themselves as Harvard alumni reflects their personal views and must not be construed as the institutional position of the Club.
The Club’s governing bylaws do not permit political affiliation or statements purporting to represent Harvard University. Individual expression must remain distinct from institutional endorsement.

.@Sonderling47: "I am hereby suspending from the Permanent Labor Certification Program some of the largest IT outsourcing firms in the world — Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini — and also, due to multiple active federal investigations, @USDOL is suspending Microsoft and Adobe from the program."
.@VP: "There has been no company in the United States, unfortunately, that has abused this system more than Microsoft."
Microsoft laid off 6,000 American workers in 2025 after certifying that it could not find qualified American employees — yet the company was approved for more than 6,000 H-1Bs and filed 3,682 PERM applications, including nearly 1,000 applications for the same positions as the laid off American workers.
Interesting standards. R.K. Trivedi retired as CEC in Dec 1985 and was made Governor of Gujarat within two months. V.S. Ramadevi went on to become Secretary-General of Rajya Sabha and Governor. M.S. Gill went a step further—Congress RS MP and then UPA Minister.
Democracy survived all that. But electoral rolls being verified? Emergency!
Former Supreme Court Justice Rohinton Narimanhas expressed grave concern over the functioning of the Election Commission of India (ECI), particularly large scale voter exclusion and executive interference in appointments to the electoral body.

Delhi badly needs a flyover from Aurobindo Marg towards AIIMS. This critical stretch has seen little meaningful infrastructure augmentation in decades, while traffic has multiplied manifold.
Every day, a large part of South Delhi crawls here. A well-planned flyover up to AIIMS could significantly decongest this corridor. It deserves urgent attention @CMODelhi @LtGovDelhi @HMOIndia @p_sahibsingh

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
It has unfortunately become fashionable to criticise judges merely because they do not toe the line expected of them by certain members of the Bar.
Having appeared before Justice Upadhyay, I can say with conviction that he has been among the finest Chief Justices the Delhi High Court has had. Firm, upright and remarkably independent—never a pushover, irrespective of the pressures surrounding the office.
A judge must ultimately stand with the law, not with personalities, popularity or expectations. Justice Upadhyay exemplified that principle.
Many of his judgments will, in my view, stand the test of time and speak far more eloquently than any commentary surrounding his tenure.
If India truly wants to become a developed nation, we need to start with something far more basic than infrastructure — civic sense.
Make Civic Sense a compulsory subject from Class 1 to 12, with theory as well as practical examinations, and a minimum 75% to pass.
You may build world-class roads, airports and cities, but unless we learn how to behave on those roads and preserve those cities, development will remain incomplete.
Civic sense is not etiquette. It is Rashtra Nirman

2,435 kg of waste removed from Gurugram in one massive cleanup drive!
On Day 2 of CleanWithBittu, Bittu and his team reached Khedki Daula, Gurugram, and got straight to work.
The area was covered in plastic and discarded waste posing a serious danger to stray cattle that can accidentally consume plastic while feeding.
But this time, the garbage didn’t stay there. With the support of local residents, 2,435 kg of waste was cleared from the area.
Next stop: Yuva Shakti Ghat, Noida, where Bittu is calling on people to join the effort to clean the Yamuna banks.
